DC Universe Online is a game made by Sony, where you are able to choose from 14 different powers and make your own villain or hero.
Heroes have the choice of choosing either Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman as their mentor. Superman deals with meta-humans, Batman seals with tech-savy humans, and Wonder Woman deals with magic-imbued humans.
Villains have the choice of choosing between Lex Luthor, Joker, or Circe as a mentor. Lex deals with Metas, Joker mentors the tech villains, and Circe helps with the magic villains.
Once you become level 30, you can enter raids, duos, and have access to more alerts, as well as solos. Raids are eight man groups Alerts are four man groups Duos focus on only two players. Solos are obviously one man instances.
There are currently 14 powers. Fire Ice Earth Gadgets Light Mental Quantum Nature Sorcery Electric Celestial
There are currently 8 dlcs

Like most games, you need to get farther ahead in order to make your character look better.
Also, each power has its own traits. There are many different loadouts you can use with/for each power. It just depends on which role you choose. I actually have a very mecha-looking character with earth powers

It was pretty good actually. My main problem with customization (besides not being as amazing as City of Heroes) was being stuck with just a 3 color palette, having to choose from only 3 sizes/builds, and the faces seemed really off...
I really liked free roaming with acrobatics, but the combat gameplay just felt a little weird... I think the enemies felt very 'twitchy' or stiff something. I did enjoy dual pistols, though. A pretty fun combination of melee and range and style. I used fire powers which was also pretty good, but it felt like there wasn't a whole lot of powers to choose from for being a super hero MMO...
14 sounds like a lot more than when I played though. Are you counting all the non-free ones? ¬_¬

Yea, because nearly everyone playing on USPS3 either buys all the dlc or gets a legendary membership at one point or another.
I'm a legendary player, and my main character has light powers. I mainly play villain. I've had atleast one character of each power. Light is my favorite because you can string together certain powers.
For free players, there are 6 powers. Fire Ice Mental Gadgets Sorcery Nature
I mentioned all the powers because people either buy dlcs with powers they want or they get legendary.
Also, the ai of the characters has been updated a lot recently.
Now bosses target the healers -_- they also block and block-break. I think enemies run too smooth. It's only during moment of lag(when all my wifi is being used) that they've been twitchy.

I see, well, I'm a cheapskate. I only play free-to-play games entirely free.
