I wasn't exactly sure where to place this but whatever.
Anyway here I will be asking for assistance for a video i will probably maybe might make called .... well look at the thread name and I need a few example's and or Idea's
Just saying right now that Gotcha force will take number 1 since you guys are awesome and are incredibly nice and stuff
but the rest are a blank for me, I was thinking Bronies and whatever the heck the touhou fanbase likes to call themselves
So thoughts, assistance, and or requests would be appreciated

I... really cannot help you with this one I'm afraid. Might want to be careful about adding Bronies. I don't hate them but geez those guys are the definition of love it or hate it... I'm ok with them, but even so I'd use my words wisely.

Whovians? Trekkies/Trekkers? Avatar fans? Homestuck fans?
Iunno, doesn't make too much sense to me to make a top 5 list when you're only familiar with 3 fandoms.

fair point Njay, I may scrap the idea all together. Kinda felt like bragging about you guys ;_; It would probably help if you were to define some criteria, maybe also decide whether you're going with fandoms or communities because they're not at all the same thing (case in point: we're not the only 88 people in the world who are fans of Gotcha Force).

Marvel and dc, or baring choosing, comic book fans in general. Also maybe make it a top 10 vid?

Marvel and dc, or baring choosing, comic book fans in general. Also maybe make it a top 10 vid? NO. Just look up 'Hal's Emerald attack team' or H.E.A.T.

I also don't entirely understand what you're asking for, either. Seems like you're kinda mixing specific communities with fandoms as a whole... But as for Bronies, I feel like it's kinda split between real fans, and those who just do it because of bandwagoning, usually being totally overcome by the fad and having ponies in their avatar and signature, and post a huge pony 'emoticon' every post. Thankfully, none of that kind here.
As for Touhou, it may very well be my favorite fanbase. I don't think there's really any term for it, and there's countless communities for it. But the thing is, Touhou fans take 'fanbase' to a whole new level. There's so much fanart that you can live ten times and never see it all. And dozens (around the 100s?) of fan-made games, literally on just about every game genre (FPS included). The music is also all pretty incredible... But as for the music, there's probably... Dare I say around a thousand of remixes? You can go on Youtube and search a Touhou song, and get lost in a heaven of related videos of fan-made Touhou songs for the rest of the day. I haven't even mentioned all the videos and comics (and fan-made anime)... It's such an impressive fanbase. The official (and unofficial) games have been going for years, and keep coming, even a new one coming out in 4 days and another following soon... A large amount of likable and different characters and concepts in the grand world of Gensokyo, so fans have lots of favorite characters to choose and a whole world of ideas to work with.
Also... Mechs have a lot of different fanbases. It's a fairly big thing, from fans of real robots (Mechwarrior/Battletech) to old classics (Gundam, Robotech, Mazinger) or more modern mech series, and every other kind, and games. Gunpla is quite popular with some of the fans, which is basically just a word for 'robot model kits.' Heck, Japan is about to get a game about gundam model kits fighting in the real world. Slightly like Gotcha Force in a way. Gundam is the most prominent line of mecha, but fans generally also follow other mech series, and we love our mecha crossover games.
Well, I did say Touhou is my favorite fandom, but this is my favorite community. Actually, I really only poke in to some other forums like once or twice a week, but I mean, really, Gundam, Touhou, Bronies, anywhere you go with them you'll tend to come across a lot of mindless pricks and lots of vulgarity, as great as they can be. But in this forum, I like how we're all more lighthearted. And the only negative thing that comes around here is when people get sulky. Or Steve vs. Al. That doesn't happen much now though.

Fund it!
anyway I apologize, my lack of interweb knowledge seemed to have caused confusion I was under the impression that fandoms and communities are the same.
So what exactly is the difference?

I guess you can think of fandom as sort of a culture. While a community is a group of people. Like for example, right here, Gotcha Force Fan is a community, and Gotcha Force is its fandom.

I suppose it would be better to do communities only.
anyway what I'm looking for is how does the majority of the community act, how accurate is the stereotype, and how welcoming are they.
For example the CoD community would not make the list, most of the people act like little kids and fulfill the stereotype
