I don't know what moderators and admin's actually do? I don't just mean for this forum, I mean for any. I mean, I understand that the roles of the admin's on 4chan are probably quite different than they are on this site, so I guess I am asking about this site, but I don't know what they do in general outside of act like parents when they need to (curb arguments, ban people, etc).

On this site there's not too much to do, but in the event that there are rule-breaking posts we're here to take care of it. To my knowledge, mods pretty much make/enforce rules, move/remove posts, ban people, and abuse their power (optional). There's a reason this joke exists:

That picture = greatly amusing So this is a pretty lax job for you guys I mean, there have been a few people banned, but overall we are such a lovey-dovey bunch that it sounds like you guys are essentially normal members.

Generally yeah, I don't know how mighty the mods feel but I see it as I'm just a buddy then I become an annoying buddy if anyone gets out of line. There's the issue of it's more painful dealing with people on a small forum because we know them more personally, but 'tis what must be done. And as mentioned in another thread, sub-Admins and up get to be stalkers by looking at your profile help adjust post count and some ranking changes when needed

There's the occasional times when we need to tidy up posts, or more likely unneeded threads, or we can move them around a bit, lock them, all sorts. 'Moderator' sounds like an impressive title and it feels good to be one...
But essentially our job is little more than that of a glorified cyber-janitor.

^"Cyber-janitor" sounds pretty badass, actually. Like Robocop, only not Robocop, because to the best of my knowledge janitors aren't cops. There's a reason this joke exists: [image] I find that image offensive and so I'm going to report you to the mods. User has been banned for this post.

I fear what I have started. This thread has become too powerful.
