Seto and mako played about three games. Seto won twice and then a tie or rather they called it a tie because makos curfew hit. He left for home promising theyd finish the match tomorrow. Seto was disapointed that now he had nothing to do. So he headed back to the hq room. Henry was gone but he did see suzi waiting to do something, it honestly looked like she got standby duty again and was bored. Lopmon sat in her lap, looking frustrated that suzi was absentmindedly playing with her ears.
Seto: so whyd you rat to henry?
Suzi: huh? Oh well you know.
Seto: actually if i did i wouldnt have asked.
Suzi: well um errr that is to say...
Lopmon: suzi isnt good with secrets. She told the whole base practically the second we got here.
Suzi: Lopmon! *she grinds her fist into lopmons head.*
Lopmon: owwww!
Seto laughed. "You two are a pair of characters. I suppose i forgive you, and have placed you on my no secrets list"
Suzi: awwwwwww *she makes a pouting face*
Shortly afterword rika and ryu called in, saying they had recieved a call from the sovereign and had gone digiside to investigate, and that they were headed back with a digimon in tow, as per the sovereigns request. They also reported that they had faced resistance but they had handled it and should arrive shortly.
Twenty minutes later they did. With what appeared to be a crimson version of calumon. Except instead of white and purple it was red and yellow, with orange eyes. And its catalyst symbol was blue with white triangles. It was sleeping.
Rika:shhh its grouchy when it wakes up. Sort of anyways.
Ryu: yea honestly listen to the princess, this thing was more of a threat than the HOSTILE digimon.
Rika punches him in the arm. He responds with an ow! And by rubbing his arm.
Ryu: are you sure your my girlfriend? Cause i dont recall her hitting like a man. Maybe she got switched in the digital world.
This prompted another punch from rika, and ryu to ow! Again. Cyberdramon and kyubimon just laughed.
Seto kept staring at the new digimon, it looked so familiar. He pulled out his deck and looked again at the odd cards he had found. They bore a vague semblance to this small digimon if only in color. He poked it.
?: owwwwww!now whyd you hafta go n do that? I was having a good nap. It yawned.
Seto: what are you?
?: a digimon of course. What are you?
Seto: im Seto.
?: whats a seto?
Seto: no my name is seto. Im a human.
?: oh well my name is Crimmon, im a digimon. I think thats short for digital monster. Now goodnight. It yawned and went back to sleep.
Seto picked him up. He walked over to yamaki. "Dad can i keep him?"
Yamaki still trying to decipher why the sovereign had sent the small digimon here responded with a prompt NO! And before seto could protest followed it with a "and no but dads either, you dont need a digimon"
Seto was crushed, all he wanted was a digimon, why couldnt dad see that? What harm was there in having one?
Yamaki: i dont want tou risking your life with one of them. Your my son and its my duty to look after and protect you. I couldnt bear the thought of something happening to you. I hate having to send the other kids into situations like this, but my own child? Out of the question."
Seto sat down and began sobbing. Why was dad so opposed to him having a digimon partmer? He wouldnt fight it, or do anything dangerous. But he wanted to be a tamer, to say a digimon was his.
Yamaki knelt down. He hugged seto, "son i know it hurts but its because i love you, i dont want harm to come to you and digimon have a bad habit of finding harms way and placing people in it. Do you understand?"
Seto just cried harder. Why was dad being so loving now? Why now not before but now when seto had just been denied what he wanted most, heck he didnt even have a digivice, the digimon wouldnt be his, it would just live with them. But seto figured that was a no too. So he kept crying.
Rika moved to go amd hug him, but ryu grab her arm.
Ryu: nuh uh princess, its a family thing. Dont make it worse. Its none of our business.
Rika: but hes so sad! Look at him!
Ryu: i am, and i know how he feels, trust me, id be lost without cyberdramon but yamaki is doing what he feels is best. We have to respect that. Sides, i know my folks were peeved when i jetted to the digiworld. Let yamaki handle it.
Rika: fine but i dont like it.
Setos tears finally subsided but he kept sobbing. Finally he managed to ask through his tears "can i at least take it home? Maybe it isnt mine but can it stay with use?"
Before yamaki could say anything riley walked up "yes it can stay with us! And thats final."
She looked at rika, "will you and ryu take seto home? I need to talk with the father of the year here." She said jerking her thumb at yamaki.
Rika&Ryu: yes maam!
On his way home seto overheard
Riley: look at how sad he is, all he wants is a digimon!
Yamaki: i understand that but i wont allow him to risk his life like he is playing a card game. Its real now, its not just cards anymore, digimon our dangerous!
Riley: oh really? Because all yours does is sleep! She pointed at the three sleeping digimon on the floor.
And then he couldnt make out the words. He said weakly "dont fight" but it was inaudible.
He feel asleep on kyubimons back. He woke up the next morning at his house. He heard the sound of breakfast being made. So he went to the kitchen to investigate. Grabbing his hst as he did so. Rika was cooking breakfast and ryu was asleep on, or well all over the couch. A pillow was near his head and the blanket was strewn about his person. One arm was over the couch back and the other was dangling off the side. His legs were in a simsr position and he was snoring.
Seto rubbed sleep from his eyes and yawned. He looked back at ryu
Seto: there is no way that is comfotable. At all.
Rika laughed. "He always sleeps like that. I tried tying him up after he feel asleep one night and he still ended up like that. He makes a mess of our living room. Drives my grandma insane"
Renamon who had been leaning against the wall by the fridge in a state of zen quietness. Spoke up "rika your burning those pancakes."
Rika: OH NO! She began scrambling about to rememdy the situation. Seto laughed. When it was all said and done about 1/3 of the total pancakes had burned.
Rika: those ones... would be ryus. She said looking at the still sleeping ryu. "Hold on while i wake up sleeping beauty and we can eat. Its a saturday, so fortunately we dont have school." She said walking to the couch, prompting seto to think how odd it was that the school year had fallen so that the first day was a friday. Rika then kicked ryu in the gut. Hard enough to send him spralling. Or well it would have had he not been sprawled already.
Ryu: OOOF! OW! what the heck was that for?!
Rika: wake up breakfast is ready
Ryu: a simple wake up would have surmised. Geez im beginning to doubt this whole love nonsense you keep telling me.
Rika: you so dont wake up any other way unless its like 4 in the afternoon.
Ryu: yea yea.
He sat down at the table. And acknowledged seto.
Ryu: morning kid. He said with a grin "ooh rikas famous hotcakes." He flipped his over "and i get the burnt stack... yup no love at all"
Rika just glared at him.
Renamon: perhaps if you slept less you couldve helped with breakfast, and rika would not have burned yours.
Ryu: mine? No see this stack is monodramons. He called his digimon who had dedigivolved to fit into the apartment. "Here" he gave the digimon the burnt panacakes
Monodramon ate them happily.
Ryu: i knew i tamed you for a reason garbagedisposalmon. He said jokingly. Which everyone laughed at.
Seto: hey! Wheres crimmon?
Rika pointed at the fridge. "He said we made to much noise so he jumped in there to sleep.... i bet the little guy is freezing tho!"
The three of them ran to the fridge. Crimmon was lying asleep in front of the milk.
Seto: crimmon!
The small digimon woke up
Crimmon: morning already? *yawn* oh boy its cold in here! Yowsers get me outta here!
He leapt onto seto.
Seto bopped him on the head. "Thats what you get for sleeping in the fridge silly!"
Crimmon: hey im not a silly im a crimmon!
Seto chuckled "no no youre being silly."
Crimmon: oh i thought i was being me. Well i better fix that i dont want to be silly!
Seto laughed again. "So what are we all gonna do today?"
Rika: well your mom called before you woke up. She said that she and your dad wanted us to all have lunch, but that for now ryu and i are on babysitting duty. So how about we go to the park?
This prompted a whoo hoo from everyone except renamon followed by a "whats a park?" From crimmon. And so they headed to the park. After getting dressed of course.
( i hope i am succeeding in character portrayal. Obviously ai mako and seto are easy, because ai and mako had no elaboration in the show really and seto is a cake walk cause hes an oc, but yamaki and riley are difficult im trying to keep them parents but also stay true to the originals. Same with the other tamers. They are all older so i feel i have a little room but i dont want to ruin them either. Comments or suggestions? Please!)
