Some of these shows are pretty well known in the anime community, but they're not exactly "mainstream" mainstream so... I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying - Short romantic(?) slice of life about a married couple. CrunchyrollFrom the New World - Post-apocalyptic psychic dystopia. CrunchyrollKyousougiga - No description. Something about a priest and a bunny and a magical painting dimension. You can skip the original OVA (called "Episode 0" or "Preview") or watch it after finishing the main series. Crunchyroll The Devil is a Part-Timer - Comedy about Satan working at McDonalds. There's some dumb harem/ecchi humor but thankfully not too much. CrunchyrollThe Tatami Galaxy - Fast-talking narrator tries to find his dream college life. Kinda Really artsy. First two episodes on YoutubeGatchaman Crowds - Light-ish superhero show. CrunchyrollAnd because I know there will be confusion: Season 1 is "Gatchaman Crowds" --> "Gatchaman Crowds Embrace" (no legal streams). Season 2 is "Gatchaman Crowds Insight: Inbound" --> "Gatchaman Crowds Insight". Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Scifi crime drama. Isn't Ghost in the Shell mainstream? Yes, that's why I put it at the bottom I'm including it because everyone always talks about the 1995 Ghost in the Shell movie, but you hardly hear anything about the TV series.

The GITS anime series was great. I was super sad when they took it off the line up of... what was it, adult swim I guess? Or had toonami become the "adult show" line up at that point? Idr. They replaced it with the 2nd series called "2nd gig" which imo was not as good. The last anime I watched that was newer and "less main" stream was "World Trigger" I enjoyed it, the visuals were good, combat scenes I enjoyed, the anime exclusive arc the show was on when I quit watching sucked, the plot was, decent, they hadn't really gotten into a major plot at the point the show was at, since there isn't a set villain. I enjoy all of the characters... except for the main one. God that character is awful. He is one of those "I'm awful at everything. But I'm really determined to better myself, even though I have a physical limitation that prevents me from doing so." Characters. But then they give him a "super analytical mind" and tried to spin him as a strategist, but like the writer never actually sticks to his strategies, or the sub was just really bad at explaining what his plan was... either way he is generally useless, and the other characters end up going out of their way to prevent his death multiple times over, they all have no qualms about this either apparently, saying that they are obligated to do so because he is "our beloved strategist-kun" other than him being an awful character, everything else was enjoyable Imo. I really need to get my crunchy roll account set back up so I can finish the series and see if anything ever changed, or if he did become a decent strategist. XD

So, as someone who almost has always watched completed animes, anyone got tips for trying to learn to watch anime as it comes out? How do you know which ones you should follow per season?

Randomly stumbled upon this super sad segment of Kotoura-san the other day, and it made me watch the entire show ( only 12 episodes) and I have to say, for such a sad first episode, you'd never thought it would turn into a full-blown comedy. The humor is extremely perverted, but in anime, such humor shines. I laughed so many times. - Admin

Watched another 12-episodes series yesterday, Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku. It may have the initial premise of being a show for little kids, but boy, oh boy, it has blood in spades and lots and lots of deaths. I liked it, plus it had the most unusual villain in it.
