Considering how much of the Kirby thread is discussion about Air Ride, I'd say this thread is long overdue. Or at the very least was. It's probably too late now, but whatever, it's a thing we needed and now have.
Anyway, an interesting thing to do is to go into Air Ride mode and do a rather long timed race with the damage meters in effect. Set the time limit unreasonably high and it basically turns into a death race (but not Death Race, because that's apparently a legitimate race with a finish line and everything that just happens to have a lot of death), or set it to a reasonable level (like maybe 15-20 minutes) to make dodging and outrunning the opponents a viable path to victory.

I used to own Kirby air ride, it was my first kirby game, but I don't remember much of it... I guess it was pretty good from what I can remember.

Not really. Just like how all the extra pokemon threads were unnessecary, so is this one. (my opinion)

Not really. Just like how all the extra pokemon threads were unnessecary, so is this one. (my opinion) And a valid one. I agree about the Pokémon threads, but in that case it's all basically the same sort of discussion because the gameplay is all basically the same, whereas with this it's an entirely different thing from the other Kirby games, prompting entirely unrelated discussion only connected by the fact that it's a Kirby spinoff as opposed to some other thing. Like how Mario Kart is an entirely different thing from Mario Bros. It just feels out of place in that generalized thread. Or at least it does to me.

There's something about Air Ride... It's extremely fun at first, but progressively gets kinda boring. Then in a few days, the cycle repeats. It's one of my favorite Kirby games, though, but then again, is there any Kirby fan who doesn't rank it among the best Kirby games? I guess the only thing that makes it boring after time is the lack of content, well, technically you can go over a hundred hours getting all the achievements, but there's not that many maps, and City Trial actually seems to be pretty small... My favorite was the Winged Star, because the game has really awesome flight physics, and you can do some crazy stuff with it. I also liked the Flight Warpstar to fly around City Trial, but felt like it removed any skills in flying. As for a Deathmatch, I used to do that, sort of. I'd have me and an AI as Meta Knight, and set a ridiculously long time in the last map, with the really long straight runs, and try to have a racing duel of sorts. It was a bit problematic in that it took forever to catch up if I fell behind, though. And here's an AMV I really like, which I found years ago.

Are you playing with others anytime, Claxus? If not, I can certainly see how you could see it as a boring game

I played a few times with my brother years ago, but that didn't last very long due to his gaming taste. So not really. To me, anything without online is pretty much single player.
