>_> Why did I not hear about this until today? I'll send some links, but it's hard to find an unbiased article on this, so just look at the info. SummaryFrom what I've gathered from chit-chat and skimming articles, the US embassy in Libya was attacked on 9/11 this past week, killing the ambassador and three others. Once evacuated to a safe house, the safe house was also attacked later that day, as well as a rescue helicopter by mortar fire. Later on in the week, more "attacks" rose up; in Egypt even going far enough to climb the walls and take down the US flag. Protests, some peaceful and some not, have erupted over multiple US embassies in the region (iirc, Yemen, Sudan, Kuwait, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya). Apparently, the protests were over an amateur anti-muslim film made by some dudes in the US, BUT, people don't think that's true for the attack on Libya, which seemed to be a planned 2-phase attack on the embassy and the safe house (and on 9/11, that just can't be a coincidence). end summaryAnyway, that's what I got. I can't really tell what's true and what's just media, but r.i.p. to those who have been killed. I'm mostly a Yahoo news guy (check it before I check my email), and I'm APPALLED that most of these things are swamped out by less important things they like to post in their "headline news" stuff. This should have been stickied on news reels >_> or maybe I should start getting my news elsewhere LOL. www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/09/13/consulate-attack-planned-as-2-part-militant-assault-libyan-official-says/www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/09/15/us-aid-to-middle-east-questioned-after-anti-american-attacks-in-region/(this one seems to cover a lot, just skimmed it though) www.reuters.com/article/2012/09/13/us-protests-idUSBRE88C0J320120913

Yahoo news makes me go sometimes, too. I mean seriously, tell us the important international stuff BEFORE you tell us how Miley Cyrus had a wardrobe malfunction at a party. As for the events themselves, I've heard it interpreted as basically Middle Easterns thumbing their nose at American anti-terrorism. It makes sense to be a response to the anti-Muslim video, too, though, which (I don't know the details about it ) probably shouldn't have been made anyway if it was made for the sole sake of poking at Muslims. No matter how you look at it, it just makes me wish people on both sides could just get along

Apparently, the guy who produced the movie and uploaded it wasn't even American >_>. I dunno how true that is, but wow.
Anyway, I don't think there's anything wrong with religion. What's wrong, is when you kill other people for things like this. They attacked an embassy, killed an ambassador, other people, wounded others (even their own) and what not, and they didn't even have anything to do with the youtube video. What do they hope to achieve by doing that? If it's about how the US handles anti-terrorism, there are still ways to do this kind of thing peacefully, you know?
but yeah, ^^;; no more yahoo news for me lol. Any good "middle ground" news place that just reports stuff without massive amounts of bias? I was just so suprised it took me so long to find out that this actually happened >_> you'd think this'd be everywhere all the time lol, especially on yahoo, who can't get any REAL news to report xD.

Haha, Fox News. On-topic, they take their religion far too seriously over there. A few idiots makes an insensitive video about your religion and you deem it necessary to kill a bunch of people who had literally no connection to them other than their home country and attack the embassies? That's just complete and utter stupidity. They're basically declaring war against a nation of over 350 million people over the actions of about 5 of them, and not even 5 of them that represent the nation in any way, shape, or form. EDIT: Man, I post slowly all of a sudden. Any good "middle ground" news place that just reports stuff without massive amounts of bias? I was just so suprised it took me so long to find out that this actually happened >_> you'd think this'd be everywhere all the time lol, especially on yahoo, who can't get any REAL news to report xD. Well, certainly not Fox News! Serious answer: I think CNN might be the unbiased one of the news networks, but I have no idea.

This day was supposed to be a way to strike fear into the hearts of americans. for most of us, it worked. over time it's been more of a memory day, but after this latest 9/11, that fear has been reinstituted.
What I noticed too, and I'm not sure if this was on prupose, but look closely at the date. September 11. 9/11 9-1-1 as in, the number you call when something is wrong, so you can be helped. 9-1-1 is to help you. 9/11 strikes fear.

Have I posted here yet? Apparently not. ^Personally, I could care less about this day, since i was five when it happened, noone i care about was hurt, and well, when we watched the news report we all though it was cool how the planes exploded and stuff................. Well, that is just me. Sure," lives were lost, you should care more", "youre heartless" Ive heard it all before. I just dont really care. freak America and everything associated with it; tht and The Middleeast. I agree, mostly. I'm not even American. I may never even have heard about 9/11 if people still weren't talking about it and making a big deal out of it every september. Loads of people, including my Dad, make loads of overblown conspiracy theories about a subject I couldn't care less about. People dieing isn't fun, but why do people have to focus on specific events when loads of things are happening? Even if it was an inside job by the government, like my Dad believes, I dont really care so long as it doesn't bring about the apocalypse anytime soon.

Well, the thing is, it's one of America's darkest moments. 2977 people died, and it's just sad to see the two tallest towers collapsing and causing huge collateral damage.
I think it's tired out by now, though, and I don't think people should really still act like a big deal (maybe a moment of silence, or something nice like my school did, just placing 2977 flags down on the grass), but you still shouldn't be so disrespectful as to say "I don't care, and I think the plane crash was cool." But I agree, people make too much of a big deal, to the point it's actually sad how it seems they're trying to draw it out so much. I mean, it happened, it was tragic, but just remember it and let it go...
