This is very much like SOA in that it is about a game, but there is more to this.
Haruyuki, a kid that was always bullied is given the game BRain Burst, by his upperclasswoman, the beautiful Kuroyukihime. It is shwn in the series that she actually does have feelings for him. He becomes the game's only flying avatar, making him pretty famous, but also making him a target.

They are closely advertised together

AWESOME!
I am not joking, I haven't watched an anime so densely and quickly. Theres tons of uniqueness and symbolism, one can draw a fine parallel to brain burst and simple communication and one upmanship in the social world in order to have an edge over others in life, the idea of computers being installed in people and watching them type stuff in thin air, the action scenes and everything- just genius!
I'm a bit concerned that it's going the humour/harem route too often though, I'm especially concerned about this more than usual because Haru is a short, fat, unattractive kid, which was supposed to add to the fact that he's down on life and really hit home at the beginning, but now it makes his position less believable because so many attractive girls seem to be falling, or at least willing to hang out, with him which makes him seem less relatable. They may be doing this to describe the effects of brain burst in more ways than simply the power it's self.
I'm also concerned about it's 'villan of the week' type route, but it's not that emphasised and considering how good the rest of the show is, whatever, nothings perfect. After all a lot of it definitely blends into each other, and each villan of the week has a part in the plot and returns in later episode (save for one, where the episode appeared to be completely pointless and inconcequencial, unless said character returns)
Absolutely fantastic and may end up being my second favorite anime, and unlike SAO, it isn't rushed. The setting such as the explanation of the networks and how technology has evolved in the future isn't well explained right off the bat but the show givs you enough time to piece it together.

Seriously, your not loosing anything by giving it a watch, you know, the same way I'm biased against black cat simply because you told me to watch it and I didn't think I'd watch it but at the same time I'm beginning to warm up to it. I remember I had to badger you for ages to watch code geass, and it took a little to make you watch soul eater and now they're your favorite animes. Granted, others like gurren lagann and Mirai nikki were failures but honestly thats 2-2 so we dont know until you try. I have the same attitude so I know what you mean. I always enjoy the movies my Dad recommends to me but it takes him -ages- to convince me to watch them.
Chances are me and Riku will want an Accel world RP. It's highly RPable. Why should we join your anticipated Black cat RP if your not even willing to try these based on first impressions? I'm not deifying them at least we're just recommending them.

Also, highly RPable? *laughs*
look at the failure that is Sword Campaign and tell me that again.
Given, I'll probably watch this and SAO...eventually.

I'm starting to create some of my own. Riku Al and you make 3/4s of them huh? That means 1/4 for each person. Gezz its like your only focused on Riku when it comes to RPing and when he leaves, you think its over. Its not like we can't have good RPs anymore the minuet he stops.
I'm looking up info on this and to be honest I really like online game type stuff like this. I think I might seriously watch it. Or read it if theres a comic.

Al has stopped making rps pretty much. So that's more like 1/3. And all my rps suck.  But yeah, you are (well, you made one. ) I'm one of those people who has a ton of ideas, but gets sidetracked/rarely can follow it up. |
