From what Ive read in the first chapter, it is a whole differemt time period and it says it is a prolouge in the description and in the first chapter

So far there is no geass
There are knightmares, which are biomechanically enhanced humans.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS
the first had control of wind
the second has control of water
the main character has a mechanic arm that steals the life from peeple, and tht is how he sustains himself.

If this is a prequel then why would biomechanically enhanced humans with control over elements NOT be in the current anime? Seems like a step backwards to me. Only jeremia came close in the anime.
