The hard part would be in the execution.
For example, how do you tell who helps people the most? It could be determined by number of posts in the help section, but some posts are more helpful than others, and helpfulness isn't exactly something that can be measured.
Award for most posts is pretty easy to figure out, but people are constantly posting so it could be changing constantly.
Anyways, I think it's an interesting idea. If this idea is supported by a lot of people and if Admin doesn't have any objections, we can start working on the Hall of Fame.

Wouldn't that be just another form of the Member of the Month?

Well, if the objective is the same as that of other Halls of Fame (recognizing the significance of its members or something like that), then it would be distinctly different from MotM in that the MotM is a month-long thing while the Hall of Fame would be permanent (presumably). My question is, do we really need to set up a Hall of Fame for our members? The post count and registration dates (for the most part) already make those of us who would be put in there stand out, so it just seems largely unnecessary to me... unless I'm misunderstanding the concept? But whatever, I'm sure we'll be getting a poll for it soon anyway.

Although a neat idea and concept, to me, every active member here on GFF would deserve to be in HoF so I would be biased towards everyone. - Should you make a thread where members post publicly about who and what they deserve to be in HoF for?
or - How about members PM me the details and I make up the list from there and publish the result?
or was there something completely different you had in mind?

I would like to request a slight tweak to the Shadow skin, if it can be done. Maybe it's just a personal problem, but I find it odd that the frames of things are seemingly nonexistent in the Shadow skin. For example, this quote:Statistically speaking, you probably see a frame of sorts around it. In the Shadow skin it's either not there or so dark as to be virtually invisible without messing with the brightness of everything, leaving the indentation to be the only indication of a quote in the event that the quote author isn't listed. I'm not the only one who finds that awkward-looking, am I?

I'm guessing the Shadow skin doesn't alternate colors between posts. By which I mean, on the default skin, the first post on a page is on a white background. The following post gets a light grey/gray-blue background. The pattern goes on, but the point is, when someone quotes, the quote appears in a bubble of the opposite color. And I'll use Steve's very convenient last post here as an example: puu.sh/2C0fVSo I assume all that would have to be done is just add in a slightly lighter shade of black to alternate between posts, even if you don't see the frame outline on the darker background. By the way. I lost this post twice by pressing back to check what the first post color on a page is, and then to see Steve's new post here while I was typing. On the last version of Proboards, I could press back and forward, and the post would still be there...

The Shadow skin has always had a complete dark theme even before V5, but if it's desirable, I'll modify it. New smilies added. Even more to come later. - Admin

The Shadow skin has always had a complete dark theme even before V5 Seriously? ...Huh. I thought it had some sort of outline or something on stuff. Guess I just didn't have this problem because it always said "Quote" above quotes. Regardless, words cannot adequately express the amount of approval of this change. , among other things

For the hall of fame idea... is there a way to track and see how many threads each member has started? I think that would help determine how much ____ is contributing more so that their post count.
