In Windows XP (which I unfortunately am forced to use for its software support at times) I keep getting pop-ups in the corner of the screen from my antivirus telling me that various lib(random letters/numbers).dll files are safe. The pop-up popping up is normal, but it only does it when I download something. And I haven't had it download anything in a few weeks. Anyone know: 1) if this apparent random downloading is a symptom of a virus I should already know about, and 2) if it is, how to fix it?
(I swear, one of these days I'm going to figure out how to get all this software support in something else - anything else - and I'll never have to deal with this pathetic excuse for an operating system ever again.)

^Microsoft and Norton and Yahoo have been hacked currently. My comp is doing it too.
However, it's nothing to really worry about. My comp is working fine. I dislike windows too, but my computer is fast.

Well, yeah, it's not really having any noticeable effect on anything but itself... but if they can be hacked to have this effect, they could very easily be hacked in such a manner as to tear a computer apart from the inside. Hence the concern. So is mine, to an extent; it can run N64 games at full speed (when it feels like it?). But Windows is just such a f***ing horrible operating system in general.

I have to recommend mac os. Yea its only good for media, well some of thr new ones play most games too... But mac os is the least open source of all the operating systems, which means the least hackable and there are virtually (<key word here...) no viruses for it, that said if something breaks you are screwed, and out another 1000$ or more for a new mac...

Problem: about half of the software support I'm concerned with is related to SMW hacking, and Mac OS still doesn't have the support for that. Also I tried using it once and it felt like that time I was using a laptop at school that had no Z or X keys, only with every modifier key on the keyboard missing instead of Z and X. ("No Ctrl+V? What the f*** is this s***?" pretty well sums up my sentiments there.) But mainly the software support thing. (And can I even install it on a pre-existing non-Mac computer? )

And yes with a little tweaking you can create a "hackintosh." i know because i have a friend who has done so. But mainly the software support thing. I will admit it takes getting used to, what is smw hacking? The making of romhacks of Super Mario World. Which requires the use of a lot of different programs if you want to do anything other than just edit a few levels. (And even that requires a program.)

Oooh. So you should do that with majoras mask and give the fierce diety a backstory. And a purpose... They don't have a program to hack Majora's Mask, as far as I can tell. Also what. (I haven't played Majora's Mask, so I have virtually no idea what you're talking about.)

(I haven't played Majora's Mask, so I have virtually no idea what you're talking about.) Ive seen fan hacks online so im sure a program exists. For more info google it, but basically when you 100% or come rather close... Majoras mask you get the fierce dietys mask. It pretty well gives you an adult link form with god powers that can only be used in boss fights, except if you glitch it, in which case you can run around the hub area, which sucks....
