GFX-03 Red Crash Robo

Hey guys, i just got through with Red Crash Robo's design, and while it's cost me time to work on the uni work i really should be doing, i think the results were worth it.

For Red Crash Robo, i really wanted to do something special. So, i decided to make the basic Crash Robo instead. And then add a data crystal. With some extra parts inside of it.

Crash Robo here was designed to be as articulated as possible. I've used ball joints all over this guy wherever i could, and he'll be able to pull off almost any pose. I tried to keep him as detailed as possible, with all the screws that hold him together recreated on this model. I tried to make the model to proportion, however i did take some artistic license, and i made him look slightly younger. That was to make him look better with Triple Ruler, a young hero robot against this serious triple changing mecha.

To convert to Red Crash Robo, all you need to do is open the data crystal (one end can be pulled off) and retrieve the parts inside. I believe you have to beat a Dark Knight first. Then it's a simple matter of swapping out parts to make Red Crash Robo. The basic Crash Robo's shoulder armor, lower leg armor, right back jump jet and of course his head can all be detached, and replaced with the corresponding Red parts (you can then just chuck the Crash Robo parts back into the crystal).

Hope you guys like it. Seems like these boards would prefer the models not be sold, so i'll just keep this to myself. Still, just wanted to show it off.

Oh, and yes, the data crystal is slightly oversized. It's so that the sword can fit.

Awesome. The only thing i notice
Missing are the small yellow symbols on the backs of his gauntlets. Other than that it looks legit.

Gold hero is overrated and lame.

Id prefer a metal hero. But i understand why your working on the robots first. A g red in blue with or without the upgrade kit also would be cool. Id pay for them too lol

^i thought the same thing. I think its that he is standing rather than his battle stance, and that uni looks alot different than the cell shaded graphics the game used.

It probably looks a lot better in more dynamic poses, but I still feel like it's really flat-looking.

Yeah. He's a little flat, especially his chest. The head looks a tad too long and should be a little rounder (like around the forehead). Also, he doesn't have dents in those black booster things in the front, only in the back. NGR's chest circle should be a little bigger too, filling up the chest.

But, overall it's a great model .

Actually that dents in the front of his shoulder jump-jets do show up, though i noticed some pics have those dents and others don't. I took some pics of my TV while playing Gotcha Force, and they do indeed show up on mine. Good question why some pics don't have them.

As for the other things, there's a variety of reasons i could give, like keeping the model structurally solid and stuff, but mainly it's just slight dashes of artistic license to make the model look good. ;D

At any rate, i'll see about more dynamic poses.

First one is off of their website, the second is off of the wiki. Maybe you're mistaking the glare as dents, because every other picture I've seen of him doesn't have dents lol.

In the first pic it looks like neo has a design on the booster fronts. It does look like an indention ill admit. But the ingame model has a smooth surface

Guys, don't worry, i've removed the dent and smoothed over the shoulder sections to make it look more like the model.
