It merrits a watch. If for nothing more than to laugh at how absolutely ridiculous the plot was.

I watched it a LONG time ago. From what I remember it was one of my favorite shows, almost up there with pokemon and yugioh, but closer to digimon and monster rancher status. It made me happy when in beginning band back in 6th grade we played the Can Can, which I thought copied the Foodon's Theme lol.

I remember trying to cross it with a lot of stuff, just to see what would work. Fan fiction wise, I mean.

I think it has a couple of games in japan. My understanding is its like moster rancher meets cooking. Certain things grant you recipes and then you can make new foodons. I wish they remade one for like gamecube. That woulda been cool.

Dude, that show was boss. I don't just mean the theme, which is clever and a great spin off and old song. It was both cliche and creative. Cheesy and glorious. Low budget and... well... it was actually just pretty low budget. That was some Saturday morning cartooning at it's finest~ Also, the localization department imparted a wonderful name on the food dish "Shrimp Daddy."
It's a really simple concept, but it was fleshed out very nicely. I like how spices can be used to power up dishes, and if you botch a dish it'll turn on you. It was just really clever and made me laugh.
Though I admit... I'm a little afraid to go back and rewatch it.
