Bio:
This Gotcha Borg is warrior in the Knight Borg corps. He wields a Broad Sword and his shield repels any attack!
Description:
Hmm. Not the best borg to start this whole thing off with. He has a quite low cost so one would expect him to not be too good, but unfortunately, his only saving grace is his shield… which is rather lacklustre to be quite honest. He looks kinda cool though; I really dig his orangeness.
Moves:
B attack – Broad Sword; Ground: 8 (one hit) - 69 (full combo), Air: 17
His B attack is slow. Slow slow. Don’t expect to hit any Acceleration Ninjas anytime soon. However, after the first swipe, it isn’t too difficult to get in the full combo so actually, on the ground it can be quite useful – 69 damage is a nice amount to do and with some prediction and timing, you could probably get it in. In the air it’s a bit mediocre; it does low damage and is still rather slow, and you still fall once used. You can’t just hit, hit, hit, you hit once and then you fall.
B charge attack – Cross-shape Slash; 52
Another physical attack? Well, I guess he is a knight. This move is fairly decent actually, providing you can stay alive long enough to charge it. Once unleashed, it hits fairly quickly, and, joking aside, doesn’t take too long to charge. It hits for a fairly nice damage although it would be nice if it were more than his B.
X – Shield Slash; 35
Oh dear. Oh very very dear. The worst special move in the game in my opinion. Normal Knight throws his shield an insanely short distance – I’m pretty sure both his B moves hit further. And it also never makes the enemy flinch like other shots. It seems to work really weirdly, if the enemy is coming toward you, it hits them - but they just keep on coming almost as if absolutely nothing happened, although, with that damage I’m not surprised. Oh, and also, it gets rid of your shield for quite a long time as it’s appallingly slow for a shot.
EDIT: Apparently, it's okay at point blank, stunning any smaller borg [Thanks Sgt. Steve]. Still wouldn't recommend using it mind since it strips NK of his one perk.
Strategy:
1v1 versus;
Do not use your X move. Keep your shield and move toward them, always angling the shield so that it blocks whatever attacks they throw at you, even physical moves. It will take you ages to get to them as every attack blocked pushes you back a bit but you may get there eventually. Do not participate in aerial combat, he’s just not made for it at all and it might be a good idea to charge your B beforehand so that when you reach your target, you can strike first. This strategy will only work on insanely slow borgs. On anything else…. You’re screwed.
2v2 versus;
There is almost no point in using him in 2v2 versus. If you concentrate on one enemy, the other can just hit you from behind. Again, do not use your X move, and try to stick low to the ground, and be warned, he is insanely easy to dodge. Other than that, the only advice I can offer is pray.
Story;
Only send him into very early-game 1v1 fights, and don’t use your X move. Again, stay low to the ground and try to get some hits in before you inevitably get stabbed in the back. Computers won’t really be able to dodge your attacks that much since they aren’t too smart. He’s okay for Story I guess.

Alberenza - 1v1: Knight borgs in my experience work best in 1v1, due to their shields. I would say that the shield is the main reason for using a knight borg, along with great mele. Block the bullets while getting in close
2v2: Knight borgs dont work so well because he has to keep track of two opponents to block attacks from, and while he is focusing on one has the risk of being attacked from behind.
story: Good early game because hes one of the borgs encountered early. As a normal, you can practice the knight tribe with him and as a low costing borg also sees good use in the game, especially early on, if you want to use a lot of borgs in a story mode force.
Sgt. Steve - Normal knight....it sucks.
It's got crappy speed, a shield that rarely works, meh attack, and poor hp for a 180 point borg.
The only real way it can even hurt anything without downright screwing itself if it misses is through a close range shield throw.
So I have one question, WHY BOTHER?
Team-mates:
I wouldn’t recommend nurses as you can’t really attack enough to keep them safe and you won’t be around long enough to get a heal from them. Tanks and any other long range borgs would be great, keeping you safe from a distance and meaning you might actually be able to get close to some enemies. If you get it as a team-mate, kill it in order to get a better borg.
In terms of story mode, Tsutomu, Tama and Kotaro come to mind. I’d avoid Mana due to the above reason and any mainly physical commanders such as Nekobe will only hinder you.
Counters:
In 1v1, anything with a decent speed. In 2v2, literally anything except the filler borgs; what I like to do is, if a player picks him, then keep that player alive and focus on the other player; you can easily dodge Normal Knight simply by moving. Story is similar to 2v2; keep him until last in the wave of enemies and then dodge behind him and shoot him. Easy enough, but remember to keep your distance just in case.
Overall:
Pros;
+ Shield
+ Air Jump level 3
+ Okay B ground move
+ Orange
Cons;
- His cost outweighs his quality
- That X move
- Terrible in the air
- Will last barely any time, unless your enemy purposefully keeps you alive
Tier:
Bottom tier. That is all.
