Recently got the game. Love it. And I am willing to fight anyone else here who has the game.

You'll have to complete classic mode with every character for the challenge board. Customs aren't that hard. Trophy rush is also a good choice, you can usually gather both trophies and customs at once.
Anyway, I have decided that the best evening for me to play smash brothers is a tuesday. I don't have class on a wednesday, so I can stay up late, and tuesday is pretty much the only day where I wont have to write an anime post. And sunday I guess, (ie, today) but I'd rather go to bed earlier for class.

Classic's not the only thing you have to do with every fighter... There's a few others. But getting custom moves is disappointingly grindy now. It's great at first, but then you start getting 90% repeats of equipment you've gotten in every run. And when you get custom moves you have to pray they're not the ones you already have. As much as I love Smash Run, it's starting to get a little bit old, and getting customs for characters is really becoming a chore...
If you have spare money (you do), try Trophy Hoard. IF you play consistently, you'll always get three custom parts. On exceptional runs, you'll get four. The good thing is they're only 2:30 runs... But I'm not sure if it's just me, but I tend to rarely get custom moves out of it. But it's still pretty quick to do, but not nearly as fun to keep doing as Smash Run.

I've just been doing classic mode at 7.5 difficulty with the Home button trick. A good match will net me 5 customs, usually its 2 or 3. I'm just glad that you're more likely to get customs for the playing character, so I can just go through each character on classic over and over to get them. 3 or 4 times through classic is usually enough for me to get everything... usually.

Okay, yeah, Classic is cheats. Massive amount of custom parts compared to Smash Run, and on good runs, you'll get a lot of those 3x roll slots, sometimes 4x, and then those 5x ones... Well, I've been doing 7.9, I've been netting 12-15 custom parts on average, even some runs around 20.
I noticed it gives you a lot of moves for other characters, too, which helps with overall collection. Smash Run seems to have a very tiny chance to give moves for a character you're not using... So from now on my plan is to do a run or two of Trophy Rush to start with a couple of moves, then do some Classic for most, then mop up with Smash Run. It's a strategic and productive (for several challenges)!
I just 'realized' Falco is in this game, actually the character I first thought I'd main in Brawl, before shutting him out of my life as he became such a common metagame contender, and taking a liking to Pit. He's apparently and pleasantly the hipster choice this time around.

Yeah, I only have all the customs of two characters (Robin and Little Mac) and then about six characters I have 7/8 specials with (Kirby, Yoshi, Rosalina, Donkey Kong and Bowser.) It's frustrating getting that last special, and how you can still get custom moves for that character after getting them all.

That's a nice looking strat there, Clax ^_^ haha it's funny how I told myself I'd main Pit in smash4, and just today I decided to pick him up to see if he felt as good as he did in Brawl. He feels so great to use I had almost forgotten With Dark pit having a pretty mean side-B I just tacked on two more mains to my list I, too, share in the disappointment of getting repeat customs...

I don't use customs that much so I don't mind that much. Also I personally prefer Dark Pit, he's more aggressive, which fits my style. By the way weekends are best for me to play and if you guys do want to play with customs I don't mind.

Time to edit my sig...again. Oh, poor Bowser, I just don't have much desire to use you even though you're good now. Worst part is, I'm pretty sure my best character is Kirby, who's my third. I also might replace...and now I'll be right back. EDIT: Yeah, I can't put Bowser over the greatness that is Little Mac.

To be fair, Kirby is pretty straightforward, with a Dair that combos into U-tilt, then you can Fair or U-air or whatever after that. Robin takes more zoning skills, and a good grasp on the weapon durabilities to be good.

Not much different for me, but here's my main lineup. Not really in a specific order. It's pretty hard to decide on a deadset main. I'll just call them my trinity. Shulk has my most playtime by several hours, but I think I'm slightly better with Pit or Robin... And an extra lineup of characters I really like to use and have been learning, but aren't quite mains.

Robin takes more zoning skills, and a good grasp on the weapon durabilities to be good. Dair has a slow start up, but yeah. Though...you highly underestimate all of Kirby's DAir follow-ups. He has: Dair -> UTilt -> BAir/UAir (low%s only) Dair -> DSmash (KOs around 130) Dair -> DTilt -> FTilt(low %s)/Grab (High %s) -> Grab if you FTilted Dair -> Hammer 2 (The old hammer, basically.) Dair -> Inhale (especially effective if running Ice Breath, which could probably be followed with an Up-Air, FAir, or if predicted well (as in, not a real combo since it's escapable) another DAir. I'm sure there's more, but there's a few for you. However, if straightforward was the only factor here I'd be best with Bowser or Little Mac, but I'm not. No, Kirby's my best because I've used him on and off in every smash bros game to date, and he has the same basic attacks as always. Even though Kirby's my best, I love FE:A too much to not main Robin (I understand her just fine, it's just that I have trouble doing what I want on the 3DS.) EDIT: Clax, your shulk would be great if you didn't Back Slash so much. I don't know if you've fixed that in the past few days, but in our matches I could almost always see it coming and punish. Your Robin's a bit better, but your Pit's by far your best character right now. Your Pit is hard to predict, strong, and very good at punishing...much like your Brawl Pit.

No such thing as too many mains haha. I just consider favorite characters as mains. Skill's got nothing to do with it. If I like a character enough, I will learn XD Right now I'm most comfortable with Greninja because I've spent the most time on him. Pit/Sheik/Samus/Sonic I play like I do in earlier smashes, with the exception of Pit's new Side-B. Megaman I'm just glad that I'm relatively used to lemon zoning, so that's the hardest part down, but he has a lot of techniques up his sleeve I need to learn. Palutena I need to spend much more time on, and Meta Knight i've always been a fan of but Uber tier in brawl made me shy away from him til now I agree with Steve in that Clax's Pit is scary to face. Heck, Clax himself is scary to face, and I'll need to find some time to set aside to really jump into all my characters.

Not really sure how Kirby's D-air works. Doesn't seem to always trip, and on the receiving end, I've been able to avoid it all the time, somehow... I think I hold down and away and block and haven't tripped to it.
And I wish Shulk's backslash had any sort of practicality. I never actually use it in a face to face setting, but I tend to play a lot more reckless in free for alls. I mean, there's a chance I can for once get the satisfaction of landing a back-hit on a player who's focusing on someone else. And if I get punished whoever hit me will probably get punished by the other guy, etc..
I really like Pit, but Shulk just feels so much more flashy and fun with all those animations and all the Monado Art options (and poses). I'll keep at them both, I guess after all it's countless hours(/years) of Brawl that I got of practice with Pit. And Robin seems more about good assessment than practice.
Oh, and Meta Knight's pretty cool this time around. Feels very similar, minus all the absurd range and priority.
