*rubs hands together while laughing maniacally*
Let's start with Makeup & Vanity Set's 8-bit covers of The Protomen's first album, shall we?
But enough of my The Protomen fanboying...
Eusine's theme from Pokemon G/S/C
8-bit remix of the normal battle against N in Pokemon B/W
8-bit remix of the final battle against N in Pokemon B/W
8-bit remix of the battle against the legendary trio in Pokemon R/S/E
8-bit remix of the battle against Ghetsis in Pokemon B/W
Vs. Lance/Red in Pokemon G/S/C
Should be good for now...

In case you guys didn't know, a lot of '8-bit remix' videos on Youtube are actually just dragged and dropped midis. There's a program called GXSCC, and you drop a midi file into it, and poof, 8-bit music. It's pretty cool. So long as there's a midi version, you can hear it in 8-bit. www.vgmusic.com is a good place to find video game midis.

So if there's a way to convert MP3s to MIDIs then that is the coolest thing ever invented. Okay, not the coolest, but certainly in the top 50.

Unfortunately not... Midis are digital audio files, made of completely synth instruments. Meaning, it's all digital sounds. Only computers can play them. Mp3s are basically just plain 'sound', so there's no practical way you can convert it into instrument sets.

Actually, after posting that I started doing a bit of research, and there's this program called Intelliscore that can do it, apparently. Or maybe it just works with WAVs, I'm not sure, I found it doing a search for AIFF to MIDI converters.

Technically, there is such thing... Go and try it though, and listen to the result. e_e
I suppose it'd work for extremely clear quality songs with VERY minimal sounds going on at once. Even then it might sound like a mess of sounds.
But what I converted into a midi years ago... Is not what I'd call music.

^Yeah, I tried the trial version. The end result was pure s*** in audio form. Then again, I was asking it to convert this:
Maybe that's a little too intense for it to convert. Still, an 8-bit version of something like that is the only reason I even WANTED a MIDI converter kind of thing, so yeah, the program's crap.

Well, I wouldn't say the program's crap, it's just pretty much impossible.

Fortunately, Anvil Studio (I'll add a link later... maybe...) allows you to import WAV files. Anvil Studio is a MIDI editor. Therefore, a WAV can be converted to a MIDI. I tried it. It works perfectly. But it can only do one minute unless you pay for something. But at least it works! ;D
