So, with the third anniversary of GFF approaching (but still over a month away), I've been thinking of doing some form of celebratory art project, as uncharacteristically creative as doing that would be.
I was thinking of taking borgs representative of the active members on here, doing what I did with that Death Arc over in the Tama Appreciation Thread (by which I mean taking a screenshot in Dolphin and editing out the background) with all of them, and figuring out a way to put all of them into one image. Maybe even work a different background in there, I don't know. It'd probably end up looking a bit like the banner, but with different borgs and not as good because, well, how can I compete with that awesomeness up there? (Okay, so this could be considered art, but it kind of depends on if you consider extreme screenshot editing to be an art form.)
Anyway, for me to do that I'd need some input.
First of all: Is it a good idea to begin with? (I'll put a poll up there for that once I post this)
Second: Assuming that it is determined that it would, in fact, be a good idea, what borg would you want to be representative of you? (Could be your favorite, doesn't have to be. Maybe you like Wire Girl but you have some kind of subconscious aversion to being represented by a female borg, in which case, no problem, I'm not looking specifically for favorites, just representatives. Although, ideally, there would be no repetition. I mean, two Siriuses would be kind of... I don't know, redundant?)
You may be wondering why I made a different topic for this instead of just looking in that topic where Thadudette was working on a force of our favorite borgs. It's mainly because there's no guarantee that your favorite borgs are the ones you want me to put in, as I mentioned up there. Also... well, I was kind of hoping this would get faster results. I mean, my time to do this is limited. Some time this month I have to read 1984 and Great Expectations and watch The Taming of the Shrew, and I'm not sure how long that will take, but after that school restarts at the end of the month, so that's probably the official end of my time to work on it. So basically, I need input as immediately as possible. And this isn't like that time I asked you sociological questions where I could've easily made up answers based on a smaller number of them than I needed, for obvious reasons.
So... yeah. Not sure if I need to mention anything else here, so I'll leave it at that.

IN ANY CASE, I think this is a wonderful idea.
If you can do rare colourings, Gold Alien Insect. If not, Chrono Samurai would be excellent.

If you can do rare colourings I can't work the glitch too well, so most rare colors will be impossible. Not to mention the fact that if anyone comes in here and asks for a crystal anything it will be nearly impossible even if I have it because their translucency complicates things. And, to be perfectly honest, I feel like it would turn out better if the borgs were kept to alts and normal colors. Not sure why. 2: black background is good The thing that seems off to me about a black background, though, is the fact that it seems like it would look awkward because they would all be standing on nothing. If by some miracle I could figure out a way to do it, I think it would be awesome to have it look like they're in an actual stage in the game. Like Little Hill or Stone River or, for the sake of simplicity, Red Death Lair or something. Or maybe standing on the rooftops of Greater Tricity Area. Alternatively, I could just try to have them all standing on the inevitable fortresses... I don't know, I'll figure something out. Though the question remains, If I somehow can figure out how to get this in a stage in the game, which stage, if any, would you want it in?(This would be great to make a poll for... but I can't in here due to the fact that I already have one.) |

Okay, so just as a quick test of what I can do with this, I took a Beam Gunner and a Chrono Samurai and tried putting them on the higher stump of Little Hill. (No Cosmic Dragon yet, if I'm still trying to get all of this on the stump later on I think I'll probably either put it behind the stump with its head coming up over the stump (because it's just that big) or put it to the side somehow. Or put it to the side and in the back over in that clearly visible corner... Not sure yet, but I'll work it in there somehow.) Anyway, this is what I've done. Granted, this is just to see if I can do this right and may or may not end up looking anything like the final product, but... yeah.  Ignoring the fact that it's rather small and the borgs don't look particularly good because I got them in Dolphin's .375x resolution mode, what do you think? Decent work so far? |

If you specifically want an alt or a normal color borg you should probably specify, as I completely forgot that that Beam Gunner is, in fact, an alt. I would say if you don't specify I'll just assume you want normal colors, but I may forget, as I did with the Beam Gunner. EDIT: The same goes for if you want it in a specific pose. If, for example, you want a Flame Ninja in winning pose with the fire, or a Planet Hero as it appears when it's enlarging, you should probably specify. With that said... A normal one or an alt? Or does it matter? Also, thank you all for the positive feedback so far! |

Also, if we can choose a stage, I suggest Great Trinity Area. I'd say Stratosphere, but I could see some issues with not having any elevated platforms.

As for the location, I suppose I could change it, but of course I didn't see this until just after I finally figured out how to get the stump idea to work. (I was going to put the Death Eye on that little protrusion out of the side of it and everything...  ) For Stratosphere, I did have a thought to put all the borgs on the Sirius I'm pretty sure Admin will request and get a downward angle to show the Earth below it, but I wasn't sure how that could possibly work out well. |

^I gave you Death Wing so the stump would be less occupied. And I might as well state now that even if I do wind up making this in the Greater Tricity Area the effort I put into this stump will not go to waste. I'll make both if necessary, but no matter what I will finish the Little Hill stump one. Anyway, I feel like I messed up the Cosmic Dragon, so I'll post another update.  ^I am going to get as much mileage as I can out of that image. Anyway, this link should show it. As you can see, it's twice as big, meaning twice the image quality and that it stretches the crap out of my seemingly abnormally wide screen, even. Hence that image up there. I now have both colors of Beam Gunner in, as well as the Death Wing, the Cosmic Dragon, and that Sirius we all know Admin will request. (Or at least I hope so. The only reason I was able to get that Cosmic Dragon in there is because I can make its wing go behind it.) I still have to get the Chrono Samurai in about-to-stop-time pose and add the Cyber Ninja and any other borgs that will be requested. So, uh, does anyone see anything wrong with that Cosmic Dragon? I feel like I may very well have everything about it messed up. |

At the very least I would like his tail to come around(for the time being, until more people get in and you have to use more space) but currently I feel he is under represented as the beam gunners take up a good deal of space and seem unnaturally large. I know that if it were all done so they had scale sizes everything would be puny compared to the dragon and Sirius.
All in all it just seems like Cosmic has not enough space. Just add the tail curling around the stump and you should be good.

Even getting him in there at all was a pain; the text on screen (that can't be hidden in Dolphin) makes it nearly impossible to get all of him in there without him being Space Dragon size or smaller. In fact, I didn't even get all of him in there; I set it up so that the part of his wing I couldn't get in the screenshot would be behind Sirius. Would it be enough if I just increased his size by a factor of 4/3? |

^The original has no tail in it.
I didn't realize the tail was particularly important to have wrapping around the stump, so I prioritized getting the head and wings decently, leaving the entire lower half of the dragon's body out of the picture in the process.
...I may still be able to get it if I mess around with the resolution in Dolphin, though. But at the moment I'm also in the tedious process of trying to get Chrono Samurai at the moment before time stops. Or, rather, editing out the background of it.
EDIT: Okay, I moved the dragon over to the side so now all that can't be seen is its right arm, right leg, and tail. I would post an updated image, but I feel like I'm uploading way too many of them.
