My friend likes this, but I dont have it. I personally dont like fighting games too much, SSB being the exception. I liked one of the games he showed me because it had Lloyd Irving in it!

Yes! ;D. The third game was the best, but the forth got turned into a "pornography" (the words of my friend who also loves Soul Calibur, not mine). I greatly enjoy the forth one for its character customization.

I like the later Calibur games for their customization and stuff. But I would have to say that my favorite is 2 because it has the best gameplay. You know, outside of Nightmares infinite combo.

* nitpicks* Title is spelled wrong. I've only played the first and second ( Gamecube version) games, and quite honestly, I liked the first the best. My favorite is Siegfried, whom I managed to get a high three-numbered record in Survival with.

The first was for the Dreamcast which is pretty much the best console ever so I might have to say that but on the other hand the second has Talim and Raphael who I'm actually good at so... um. I like 'em both?

I overall enjoyed the Soul Caliber games and have played every one of them (except the PSP spinoffs). My favorite gameplay-wise is 2 because it had the most replay value and most of it's modes were enjoyable. I do like the new ones because of their customization though but they seem to have declined in gameplay and replayablility.
I am also half-looking forward to Soul Caliber V. I am looking forward to seeing how the new story will play out, what new features will be in customization, and what the new characters will be. One of the complaints is that how some of the characters might be cut out like I'm not sure if Seigfried will be in it or be as important since this game takes place after a timeskip and Soul Caliber belongs to someone else. Also how in this game Soul Caliber and Soul Edge are now broadswords unlike the giant swords they were in previous games, which is disappointing to me.

I've been playing a lot of soul caliber IV with my freind, he always beats me but I never practice and I 'put up a fight' apparently. Its a good game, I might buy V for myself if it comes out for the 360. But all I really want on the 360 now is skyrim and blazblue continuum shift.
OH AND DUR, PERSONA 4: THE ULTIMATE IN MAYONAKA ARENA!!!!!

And they say 'I' necropost... I personally, I like 2 just because it has Link in it. My friend and I used to do endless amounts of Link vs Link matches all the time. I only own the GC version, but I might try to get one of the others later if I get another system to play on.

Yea, I have the Gc one too. I like 4 because it has Vader and Starkiller, plus you can Amy(the little girl that Raphael was protecting) Plus, there are some other interesting characters and character creation. Although, I think 5's character creation is better.

When you were necroposting a lot you were necroposting saying to lock long-dead threads and the like. His was relevant to the topic at hand.
...I have never played a Soul Caliber game.

I have! My friend was/is really into the series and is really damn good at them. I've never owned one though, and they're not really my jam, but I do like playing him at fighting games he's good at. I feel guilty when I get him to play Persona or Blazblue since he doesn't play those games in his own time, and they're harder to adapt to than Soul Caliber.
Soul Caliber can be really funny with the character customisation and the like, though.
