So I've heard from a seemingly reliable source (the radio) about Nintendo's next system.
Apparently, it will be capable of high-resolution (HD?) graphics, and will not have some gimmick to it like the Wii's motion control. More info, from what I've heard, will be revealed at E3.
I'm pretty sure everyone else already knows about this, since a radio station can't really be faster than the internet to provide information, but... (EDIT: I can't find anything about it on Wikipedia...)
Any thoughts?

WHY CAN'T IT BE THREE MONTHS (EDIT: I forgot it was the middle of April.) FROM NOW?! This looks like it could be the best thing Nintendo will ever do! It's like a PS3 with backwards-compatibility for Nintendo systems and a touch screen! If it can do resolution upscaling for GameCube and Wii games, we can get Gotcha Force in HD! And it'll probably have Super Smash Bros. 4! (side note: I think it'll be called Collision. The word "melee" was on the back of SSB64, the word "brawl" was on the back of Melee, the word "collide" is on the back of Brawl. Therefore, Collision.) And a new Mario Kart! And a new Kirby game! (side note: when are they going to make Air Ride 2?) And, if we send enough threatening letters/online petitions to Capcom, GOTCHA FORCE 2!!!

no threatening letters, we wouldn't want the folks at Capcom Japan to send any InterPol agents to arrest us for online death threats

and will not have some gimmick to it like the Wii's motion control. I never saw the motion control as a gimmick, but rather a fun new way to play games. Video games needs more than only constant updated and prettier graphics if they're to evolve, in my opinion. Personally, I'm kinda torn by this. I don't like HD, and I really dislike flat-screen TVs of any kind, then there's the PAL treatment which is worse than ever these days, but I've been a Nintendo fan since the very beginning, so I'm gonna hold of for a while and see what it's all about.

Personally, the wii for me was awesome with the motion control and wii sports, but i feel that over time developers turned the wii remote 'waggle' into another button, and games shifted from mindless button mashing to mindless waggling. shame, really, as there was some really good games on wii. this consol doesnt appear to use motion control besides backwards compatibility, though, so i'd defiantly not rule this consol out yet! Oh, but i totally agree with Admin on the whole HD thing, people around me seem to think its the future of gaming and i just want cry at that

In my opinion, the motion control was misused and dysfunctional. It should NOT, in my opinion, be included in games that are basically a resurrection of a classic series. Like Donkey Kong Country Returns. The original three were PERFECTLY FINE without having to shake anything to move, and the fact that you have to there sickens me, personally. Sure, it can be used creatively in games like that; I liked the whole "tilt the Wii Remote to tilt the platform" thing in New Super Mario Bros. But a basic manoeuvre (I just spelled maneuver the British way, didn't I? For some reason I did that instinctively.) should NOT have motion control to it. (Unless you're talking about Mario Kart; that's one of the few games I like the motion control of, as it makes the game actually challenging when I play against other people.) And if they're going to put motion control into a game, they should first MAKE SURE IT WORKS. If I want to do a Kamehameha in Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, I WANT TO DO A KAMEHAMEHA, not swing my arms around and make myself look like a moron as I repeatedly whip myself with the Nunchuk cord in the process! I haven't tried Wii Motion Plus, though. Does that work? Not that it can make DKCR control like the original trilogy, but it would help with the dysfunctionality. (Why does the spell-check not like words with a prefix and a suffix added to them?)

sorry death eye, motion plus only works on specific motion plus games (about 4?) and doesn't affect other games. its a waste of space.

*comes out of hiding*
I very much agree! Such foolery as thinking that games survive on graphics and minor updates alone is... well, disgusting to me. They're helpful, but please MAKE THE ACTUAL GAME BETTER FIRST.
As for motion controls... they don't bother me much.
I serve Nintendo. It was my childhood, and I am loyal through and through.
Hm... I hear of Monster hunters having a bright future on this system. Finally, more megaman legends three... if his leaving doesn't damage the game all that much. And did I mention layton versus Gyakuten (ace attorney whats his name?) Not to mention the AR games that it comes with.
*stops spazzing*

"Obstruction detected, Composition Titanium Alloy, Supplemented by photonic resonance barrier-probability of mission hindrance, 0 percent" I get the feeling you think I'm one of those fools who thinks graphics are all that matters. I'm not. I just like when the good games have good graphics; I don't think that good graphics make good games. To present my personal favorite explanation of my opinion on the subject, I'd rather see a legitimate Super Mario World 2 (because, let's be honest, Yoshi's Island was not SMW2) with NES graphics, 700 levels, and a map that would take three walls to put on a poster than a pretty looking new game of a realistic length. Also, AR games and Megaman Legends 3? Am I not paying enough attention, or are you talking about the 3DS?

I agree with the not-so-threatening letters idea. I feel as though GF2 would sell very well! I know I'd pre-order and I rarely do that. I would by the system for GF2 alone.
Also, on the SSB: "collide" theory. Nice idea. It'd be cool if you were right!

That game got a bad enough rating, I doubt it'll have a sequel. Same for Gotcha force 2(unless one of us makes it heppen, it's not.) alos, nice deduction with the game names!
