As we all have noticed, after (I think it was) the second play through of Gotcha Force you unlocked the ability to select "none" when picking an ally for a battle.
Such a thing is intriguing me.
I mean, it is never really used, right?
I mean, we are forced to go without an ally a few times, but when given the choice we always pick Nekobe, Tama, Sho, Orochi, Usagi, etc. before we pick NONE.
So, I want to play through the game where I select "none" whenever given the option.
I am working on building a team for this "None run" but would like to bounce some ideas off of you guys and see what you think.
Here is what I have so far.
I am trying to use as many different kinds of borgs because if my eggs are in too few baskets I will get destroyed.
I also don't want to use Death Borg Omnicron since his juggling abilities are far too powerful. I don't want to just win, I want to have fun with this.
Probably
Blue Striker or Flying Saucer: An ariel unit would be immensely helpful because of their ability to be hard to hit. Blue Striker is 3x less expensive but Flying Saucer has the basically infinite dash.
Time Bomber: A gunner would also be super helpful because of their ability to stay faw away from the face eating enemies. Also, Time Bomber has the super useful ability to drop those floating mines which can be used to set up explosive walls to deter the enemies from following (and the stupid AI will just run into them) and can be used to break an enemies combo. Also, the mines allow him to deal great damage against big unmoving things like the Ultimate Cannon and the non-flying AI Dragons.
Beam Gunner
Planet Hero or Proto Red: Both are huge guys that wade through the bodies of their enemies. Planet Hero is a bit more than half as expensive as Proto Red, but has the tiny form that it has to revert to which could get torn apart quickly. Proto Red has all the power of the fabulous Cyber Mar, but is cheaper since he doesn't have any of the style and can't combine (which won't be a problem).
Cyber Ninja or Flame Ninja: Cyber Ninja has speed, but Flame Ninja has strength and his attacks hit a bigger area.
Death ICBM
Neo G Red: He is less expensive than G Black and has more Defense and HP.
Death Borg Sigma or Sauske: Sauske is a fast little thorn who won't die and Death Borg Sigma is a carpet archer borg*
Maybe
Blizzard Dragon: I am quite bad with fortress borgs and Blizzard Dragons blizzard bomb has helped juggle in a pinch before.
Cyber Girl Hyper: I already have 2 possible gunners, her shots don't reload, her clip does once empty which leaver her vulnerable. But her remote beams would be helpful for juggling... if I ever get a chance to fire them.
Barrier Girl: I already have 2 possible gunners, but she does have that barrier.
So...
Thoughts?
Opinions?
Recommendations?
Anyone going to be ridiculing me for suggesting borg X and not borg Y?
*My friends and I have a running joke about how one of the most broken builds in D&D 3.5 (no this isn't an argument, I don't want to hear you try and refute the logic of an inside joke) is to make an Arcane Archer and buy a magic carpet. You can fly above the battlefield and, after taking certain feats and leveling up spot, you can just sit up there and snipe away. Almost nothing can touch you and the stuff that can you can run from.
