Power Swap definitely doesn't work, unless you baton pass it 3 Agilitys into a special attacker... even then it doesn't work too well.
With Shuckle what you're meant to do is give it Toxic, Knock Off, Rest and Encore. Give any pokemon a Toxic, then Knock Off items, if you become poisoned or are on low health, Rest up, and if the opponent uses a stat raising move, keep encoring it to make them switch out so you can Toxic and Knock Off all over again.

I would replace Knock Off with Swagger.

I would replace Knock Off with Swagger. No, trust me, you don't want to do that. Knocking off an opponent item permanently for the rest of the match is much better than causing confusion that a) they can just switch out of and b) if they manage to shake it off, they then have their attack doubled. Plus, when they're confused you can't do anything except for either wait until they snap out so you can swagger again, with knock off, you can still do some damage each turn, even if it is little.

I suppose you are right. I just like using swagger because it is one of Shuckles only ways of causing a status effect other than poison.

I understand, it would be worth replacing if it was confuse ray, but the +2 attack bonus really isn't worth risking.

^Thats pretty much the best set for it. Unless you have a Choice Specs, that is.
If you do, go with; -Psychic -Shadow Ball -Signal Beam -Trick
But if you don't, then go with the above set. :3

If you want to play competitively then I suggest you check out Smogon. Bulbapedia is great and all, but Smogon focuses entirely on the battle aspect of pokemon, brings references to the different tiers and how things fit into the meta in and outside of tournament play. They were very helpful for when I was trying to take down pokemon Stadium 1 & 2. Espeon however is still suffering from the Gold/Silver/Crystal meta. When GSC came out with its batch of moves and pokemon a ton of stalling moves and pokemon were introduced into the game. Espeon is a pretty heavy staller. www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/espeon

Yes Smogon is awesome. Except don't be put off if they say a Pokemon is bad, every Pokemon is good for something. Except Unown of course.

Yes Smogon is awesome. Except don't be put off if they say a Pokemon is bad, every Pokemon is good for something. Except Unown of course. I don't know, I mean, I went out of my way to have a couple of play throughs where my team was nothing but dudes that they said were shite. Granted, they aren't right all of the time, but when they tell you that Dunsparce is a steaming pile and the Wobster is surprisingly excellent they are spot on. Although, one of the things that I had a lot of fun with was my baby run. I wanted to see how far into the game I could get with a team of the 6 worst pokemon I could find in GSC. My team was: Catterpie, Weedle, Unknown, Zubat, Magikarp, and ... some other shmo. I think it was Ditto. It was great. Sure, I couldn't beat the 5th gym, but when I beat someone, especially a gym leader, oh man, some of the most satisfying wins I have ever had. I am actually tempted to do it again later just for the satisfying. Oddly enough, Karp was actually kinda tanky. [edit] Wait, no, I remember now. My 6th was Sunkern, not Ditto. I picked Sunkern because Ditto could potentially snag a solid move like Perish Song or Fissure. However Sunkern has some of the lowest base stats of any pokemon in the series ever and most of its moves are ones that help it regain its HP. Not only do those moves kinda suck a ton, but he doesn't have the stats to back it up and he doesn't have the defense to hold the HP.
