If I get around to writing stories, I guess I should explain the Gotcha Force universe I made in my head that I will be basing this stuff on.
Humans have vanished off of the earth and in their wake, the preserved mind of a scientist begins constructing millions of Gotcha borgs, his first being G-red a sort of example prototype for larger machines to come such as, Machine red, Cyber Mars and so on.
For the early years of the Gotcha Borgs development, G-red acts as the personal assistant to the large, contained brain just known as Emperor. As the assistant he imposes the will of Emperor onto the newer, human replica Gotcha Borgs which were created to serve as an artificial society, over which Emperor wishes to play god.
After staining his hands along side the other early machine borgs (Claw robots, Drill robots, etc.) with the Emperor's will, G-red decides it is time that the human replica borgs, as well as all Gotcha Borgs live in freedom. So, G-red enters one of Emperor's laboratories and upgrades himself into Neo G-red using what he had learned from seeing the manufacture of other machine borgs.
Thinking that he was the greatest creation of Emperor so far, he stormed through the other machine borgs, barely making it to Emperor's main control center. Then, things took a bleak turn, towering above Neo G-red was the new line of machine borgs that had been based on his design. (Proto red, Proto blue and so on.) He fought for as long as he could but just as the end was in sight, there was a bright yellow glow and a replica borg lept into the fray, passing his energy onto Neo G-red.
With the sudden burst of power, they were able to intimidate Emperor, causing the brain to evacuate earth, launching himself into space with a portion of his lab.
Without Emperor, the Machine Borgs acted of their own accord. Even though they were not hostile, they had not forgiven the great attack Neo G-red and the unidentified replica borg they decided to stay separate from the other Gotcha Borgs and inhabit the main lab Emperor left behind.
Neo G-red, despite being their savior, was still shunned by most of the replica borgs. So, the single machine borg was left without a home and wandered to labs across the world, in search of something.
Centuries would go by and both Replica borgs and Machine borgs began using the Emperor's labs to modify themselves and even make other Gotcha Borgs.
Eventually, there was a great divide amongst Replica Borgs, the female designs and male designs started to grow apart. The majority of the Girl Borgs created a new faction called "The Syndicate" where they employed more elegant technology and tactics to achieve their goals.
The Male designs were very cross with each other, all having different ideas and having conflicting nature.
The ruthless Flame ninja founded the Ninja Borgs with his manufactured and well mannered son Sasuke.
Samurai Shogun alongside his son Musashi and his brother Chrono Samurai, founded the Musha Borgs which also encompassed Tao Masters and Kung Fu Masters.
Imperial Knight ruled with an iron fist over the Knight Borgs, despite Vlad's constant protest and claims for power.
The ones who called themselves Gun Borgs were all out for themselves and held no real alliances to their "Tribe" aside from making tightly knit bands of Gun Borg mercenaries who were paid off to fight battles for the major replica based factions.
The Gun Borgs, Syndicate and the Machine Borgs were responsible for most vehicle based Borgs, manufacturing them in the conquered factories. Machine Borgs designed their own personal "Victory" line of borgs and vehicles where as the Syndicate made the Panther vehicles and most light planes. The Gun Borgs commissioned the manufacture of the Tank Borgs, the attacker series and one mercenary band in particular had gotten enough favor from the machine borgs to have the Fortress Borg "Sirius" created which would later lead to variations from competing factions. Today, the Fortress Borgs are constantly fought over and they don't stay in a single faction for long.
Wars would span for years, so often in fact that skirmishes were seen as a casual weekly occurrence for even the more peaceful borgs. Most of the battles would be over the various labs and factories which Emperor had strewn across earth, leaving behind thousands of never before seen borgs, some of which were manufactured before humans had left the earth.
The resulting factions of these discoveries were various Knuckle Borgs, insects and Dragon Borgs but the most numerous and world changing were the Angel, Wing and Demon Borgs. The Angel Borgs were peaceful, so much so that they often spread themselves throughout the societies of other factions. The Wing Borgs were militatistic, considering themselves masters of the sky, in fact once activated, their leader (And the first wing borg manufactured) Garuda assaulted the Syndicate team that found them and took over the lab.
Demon Borgs were not as numerous but very powerful, their wicked nature gained them respect with Vlad who would conspire with them.

Millennia passed as new Borgs were discovered and manufactured, wars fought, advancements made and it all seemed relatively peaceful. The fighting wasn't catastrophic in scale, mostly because the only fights were over labs and small grudges. However, one day a dark shadow covered the sky. Dark borgs rained down at an unfathomable rate and in uncountable number. This was the first war of the Death Borgs.
Despite their weakness, the Death Borgs easily started over whelming small settlements and chasing entire factions back to their laboratory and factory strongholds where their numbers were starting to thin but it seemed like they would still outlast the Gotcha Borgs. Gun Borgs took refuge with any faction they could, as did Knuckle borgs and most of the smaller Tribes. It was the day that even Sirius, Antares and Death Arc fell. Death Arc in particular, fell to a strange "Death Saucer" which acted as a siege weapon for the Death Borgs.
It appeared that Gotcha Borgs were about to make their final stand until six beams hit the Death Saucer and caused it to plummet and explode on a number of Death Borgs, it appeared to be Neo G-red and five other G-series borgs, one was a standard red, blue, silver, gold and stealth. Suddenly, a team of borgs began whipping through the horde, it was the debut of the Hero Borgs! With the G-series borgs and the Hero Borgs fighting along side each other, and the Death Saucer taken down, Death Borgs began retreating and being destroyed.
After the battle, a voice called from the sky, proclaiming itself as Galactic Emperor, their creator and now the creator of a perfectly obedient and efficient army. It told the Gotcha Borgs of earth to swear oath to him and convert all of their brethren for the assault they saw today was only half of his entire army and those who accept him would be spared.
Now, present day, Galactic Emperor now rules most of the earth with the assistance of a third of the Gotcha Borg population. The once rulers of their factions have become mere rebels who often form temporary alliances to reclaim bits of lost territory and make tactical assaults against the Death Borgs.
The G-series and Hero Borgs travel separately, stopping fights between factions and assisting in the bigger battles.
And rumours abound of a shadow recruiting Demon Borgs and powerful members of other factions, making a Black Circle bent on converting Death Borgs en masse into their control and becoming rulers in the wake of the destruction caused by Galactic Emperor.
And that's the origin story of the Gotchaverse in my head!
Hope you enjoyed it if you bothered reading! :p

That would be like comparing apples to oranges. At least I'd think so. I don't think I can make a novel as efficiently, but writing articles and short stories are my thing. I think I'll make a better philosopher than Stephen King, perhaps make people think. ^u^

That would be like comparing apples to oranges. It would be more like asking if Lady Gaga is as good as the Beatles, i.e. a complete non-sequitur because apart from being completely different genres, they have different aims, different everything and Lady Gaga's parody of the music industry is clearly better.

Interesting writing. One thing, though. Wouldn't Death Arc, by what I read from your "fan cannon" as you call it, be part of the Emperor's army in the first war? I do believe, taking into account all the Death Force insignias it has, it's mostly the "Death Force" variant of a Fortress borg (namely Sirius), and as such, not have been made in the past, before the "First war"?

Ah, that is a puzzler isn't it. I don't have an explanation for why it's not in service of the Death Force, it didn't strike me as a Borg that belonged solely to them because Tama defects. However the fact does remain that it does indeed seem to be a Death Force ship. Perhaps Vlad is the one that commisioned this particular copy of Sirius, it's name and look would fit something in his fashion.
I had in mind that Death Saucers would be the main Fortress borgs for the Death Force. Some what of an alien fleet felt fitting for Galactic emperor to manufacture since he was coming back from space.

Neat! You have a creative brain I like how you included all the tribes, that was pretty cool But you didn't mention how the Idol borgs came about Actually, it's better without knowing

Pop Honey was a rogue Angel Rescue with a knack for singing who decided to join the Galactic emperor to become the head of his psychological warfare department...

Do take in consideration, Tama defects because the Death Force is attacking him, thinking he's useless. Death Arc was bestowed upon Tama as a reward for joining the Death Force. I believe that Orochi sates: "Tama, even with the power of Death Arc, you're still useless!" or something of the sort, which may be interpreted as such. Also, Death Wing is at first a member of the Death Force, and said borg also stays with Orochi once she defects.
Even if their commander switches sides, they're still their partners. Also, it's not 100% certain if Death Arc has a true "conscious", and if it doesn't, it would probably take commands from its current owner without hesitation. Also keep in consideration the fact that Death Arc was originally adorned with Death Force insignias, which pretty much proves that it's part of the Death Force arsenal. That, and its name contains "Death", same way Cyber "Death" Dragon, and "Death" wing contain the word "Death" in their name, and are at first members of the Death Force.
With all the facts stated above, I would in fact find it hard to see how it couldn't be seen as part of the Death Force. But if you want to keep it as separate, as it is your fan "cannon" (as you state it), then do as such.
I also agree upon the statement that "Death Saucer" is considered the standard Death Force Fortress borg. As seen, Death Arc is unique, and such it wouldn't make sense to have many "Death Arcs", whilst Death Saucer is seen multiple times, and has a rather generic name.

^ that's a lot to take into consideration Viroth.
the only thing i'm thinking about is that i don't think death wing is a death force borg. he's not a personal, and as you can see, there are countless other borgs that are on both the gotcha force and the death force, normal ninja bring a good example of this. but yes, death wing does have that evil connotation to its name, doesn't it? so yeah i guess you could say that death wing is on the death force's side, but i don't think that it originated in the death force.
good analysis, though! ;D

I really don't understand how all the other non-death borgs are in the Death Force. What sense does it make for the Death Force to have Nurse Borgs? Aren't they all "help the injured!"? What business does an "honorable knight" have with an evil "Destroy the world!" organization? Why are Hero borgs working with Galactic Emperor!? Why the heck are borgs siding with the Death Force after it blew up their planet?
I consider very few of the non-death borgs to actually be in the Death Force. As you can see, it makes no sense for most borgs to join the Death Force... after... say... oh I don't know... Galactic Emperor destroyed their home? Well, that -is- of course if he did... I don't recall if it's ever actually stated. In any case, I think it's mostly a game mechanic rather than actually "cannon" (Is that what they call it?) for all those borgs to be in the "Defeat the Death Force unit!" missions.
Again, it doesn't make sense for all those borgs that are supposedly good or whatnot to be helping the Death Force. That is, of course, unless he has somehow taken control of them... but if that's the case, why didn't he do it to all the other borgs? Why doesn't he just do it to the ones on Earth?
Now you can see, considering most of the borgs that appear in the campaign as part of the Death Force makes for some gigantic confusion, loop holes, and other nasty things you best avoid. In the case of Death Wing, since he only appears with Orochi, has the "Death" word in its name, and is generally portrayed as evil, I assumed it to have been made as part of the death force army. Now that I think more of it, I don't believe it has any Death Force insignias, and as such, there is no true link stating that it's been made for the Death Force or by the Death Force. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
And yes, I understand it is a lot to read, and / or to take into consideration.
TL;DR: I don't think most non-death borgs are part of the Death Force, and now that I think of it, Death Wing isn't 100% proven to be made by G.E.

Actually, I think most of the borgs in the game are clones, just like how the Gotcha Box can clone borgs after defeating them in battle. Presumably the Galactic Emperor has more advanced technology that allows him to mass produce copies of borgs and create entirely new borgs.

An interesting hypothesis, and it seems rather viable. However, if that was the case, why doesn't he just make an unstoppable army of G-Reds and all the other much more stronger borgs, instead of more pathetic death borgs?
Also, on the cloning thing going on with the gotcha box, I'm not very certain if it's cloning, Data Stealing, or any such thing. If it was just cloning, wouldn't that mean there would be practically infinite amounts of gotcha borgs? Gah, this makes me think too much.

It's possible that Galactic Emperor has more to do with the Gotcha Borgs than just blowing up their planet. First example, the fact that he uses borgs as his main weapon. Did he just spring out of nowhere above Mega Borg and say "Oh hey, sup. I'm just going to attack you now with all of these black robots that bare uncanny resemblance to you guys."
Also, with all of the strength of normal borgs compared to Death Borgs, thinking that G.E. could destroy their planet like that is just insane.
I propose that G.E. was some kind of massive organic computing system that was a part of Mega Borg but went haywire and perhaps gained massive influence by being some what of a god like being.
Or maybe a portion of my fan-canon is true. Why do Borgs resemble things primarily of earth when they are supposedly from another planet? A scientis launches himself into space with the right supplies, "Terraforms" a planet for use by inorganic beings and designs a civilization based on a very human mind. However, they begin to deviate from his original design.
Once they gained enough free will and complexity, they really didn't need him much anymore. So, furious with this development, he uses all of the borgs that still see him as their ruler and begins subjecting his will onto the inhabitants of Mega Borg in increasingly obscene and ridiculous ways until an inevitable war breaks out.
After the Gotcha Borgs escape, the planet is in shambles and Galactic Emperor is left with very few supplies. Vengeful and angry he leaves Mega Borg and pursues the Gotcha Borgs shortly after they leave.
With little supplies, he must send a cheap, expendable army to remind loyalists that he is still there and to attempt at destroying the remaining resistance, the ultimate goal? Global conquest and soon, Galactic conquest.

An interesting statement, and some of it seems viable, but I do believe that Galactic Emperor himself is the one with the "planet destruction" capabilities. If I recall correctly, G-Red says something along the lines of: "You're not going to use that power that destroyed our planet, are you?" Or something similar to it. It's my belief that the Fortress where Galactic Emperor's brain is set upon has abilities similar to that of a "Death Star" or "Planet Buster", or any such things.
As such, it would explain why he is physically orbiting on top of Earth, making him vulnerable. Other than to charge such attack (Or if it was short range or any other limitation), putting the mastermind of the invasion at very close proximity to the enemy for no reason other than to "Bwahahahaa! FEAR ME!" is a bad idea.
Also, another thing. Is Galactic Emperor's brain truly organic? I don't see any evidence if it's a real brain, or if it's a component. Though, in my opinion, it looks more artificial than anything. A giant human brain? Rather hard to explain.
Also, it would make sense that he uses the first "cheap death borgs" for reconnaissance and gathering supplies, as they are rather worthless for anything else. This is further supported by the fact that the appearance of death borgs becomes rarer as the game progresses; the initial force sent to gather supplies and to "recruit" as much borgs as possible, and later to be replaced by stronger borgs, recruited or manufactured.

If it was just cloning, wouldn't that mean there would be practically infinite amounts of gotcha borgs? Gah, this makes me think too much. Well, the instruction manual says that the Gotcha Box uses data from the battle to create Gotcha Borgs. I would think that means collecting the data crystal fragments from the destroyed borgs and recreating the borg. If all the data crystals are on the field, the Box combines them automatically and you get a borg. If some are damaged, it salvages the intact crystals. Cloning was kind of a bad word for it. Maybe regeneration describes it better, although it doesn't fit quite right. But GE has more advanced technology that allows him to somehow save the blueprints in the crystal and then make copies of it. As for why GE didn't make an unstoppable force of only the best borgs, creating borgs this way uses up GF energy, so he deploys cheap borgs in the beginning while he gathers more energy. Like in Advance Wars you have to start small and grow the army when you have supplies; you can't just deploy infinite Neotanks and Bombers.
