Gundam vs Gundam

I stumbled upon some videos of a PSP game called Gundam vs Gundam on Youtube and it surprised me how similar it looks to Gotcha Force in terms of gameplay.

I can see these similarities:

- camera picks a target for you and always points at it
- your shots aim at the target automatically
- transformation
- the players whip out a laser sword to melee (like battle girl)
- ammo bar fills up gradually (like the samurai X slash missile)
- you have a team of characters, as one is destroyed the next one is sent out
- boost bar in bottom middle
- health in bottom left
- ammo in bottomn right
- team bars in top left
- boost recharges very quickly upon touching the ground

Some of these are probably very standard or common but is this a popular style of gameplay in Japanese games or something?

O.o Wow, that actually looks like Gotcha Force gameplay.

Each thingie has a cost as well, according to research...unless I'm looking at the wrong game. And one's called Dom which is my first name O.o

I am tempted to buy a psp just to import this. Nice find ;D
