Met appreciation thread

Met's not my favorite partner commander, but I totally appreciate him using more supporter borgs than attackers.

I think I'm going to try using him a bunch more, since I never really gave him as much a chance as I did others.

I don't think this fella gets nearly enough support.

I like how he's a rival who really is a credible threat, unlike some other ineffectual challengers (a certain bully comes to mind...). And, well, I won't defend him as an ally in gameplay, but in story? Think about it. This guy has got to be tough, if Tetsuya, GF's resident hot-blooded tough guy, respects him. Even after Tetsuya joins the team, Met continues to be stubborn, refusing to abandon his principles and join the group even after his only ally has left him. He does join in the end, of course, and proves himself a loyal companion to the team he aligns with.

I think what's most likeable about Met, though, is how seriously he takes everything. He sees every Gotcha battle as a military campaign, which is somewhat incongruous with the rest of the team's more lighthearted nature, but if you think about it, he's right. The Galactic Emperor is invading earth. The homes, families, and lives of these children are all on the line, but look at them. Most of them act like they're just playing a big game, other than Sho, who's just in it for personal revenge. Orochi post-brainwashing is really the only other character who treats the invasion with amount of severity it deserves. So when Met says stuff like "I'll give you backup!", it's not just him being delusional or overdramatic. He honestly sees every Gotcha battle as the struggle for survival it really is.

Except training battles. Then, he's just being a drama queen. ;D

One last note: His portrait when he activates Hyper Mode is my favorite in the game, bar none. He looks like a general ordering an air strike, confident that victory will soon be his.

I sorta miss the old days when I fought with Met on Stone River.

I still have one silver and one shadow Death Saucer crystal to get there.

What I love about Met is the victory/defeat pictures. I just love that smug grin he has after winning~

Why doesn't Met use Army Robot?
Or a tank, I mean, Tsutomu doesn't use every tank.
He doesn't have a monopoly on them, he uses aerial support plane guys too.
Met could at least try out Titan Tank or something...
You know what, Tsutomu is more of an army guy than Met is.

Met is great, but not when I was trying to level up Shijima.
It's just, a clash of support borgs is never good.
It's like two Nurse borgs, or 2 Sekhmet witches.
It just doesn't work.

I wish Gotcha Force actually simulated more strategy than jump, dodge, shoot, melee, repeat. If it did, Met would be unstoppable.

I mean, just look at him! He's wearing a helmet! If an Army Robot dropped a block on his head, he'd shrug it off. Unlike anyone else, who would be in reasonable pain.

Also, like Shark said, he is the only one to treat the invasion like a, y'know, INVASION. Kou is too busy being all bushy browed, Kakeru is too busy playing second fiddle for Kou, Usagi is... Well, just hyper, Tsutomu is too busy trying to buff up his self-esteem, Nekobe is too busy being a total jerk, Kitsune is too busy playing second fiddle for Nekobe, Tetsuya is too busy being all hot-blooded and stuff, Tama is too busy eating ice cream, Yuji is too busy being completely insane, Sho is too busy yelling at everything he sees and swearing vengeance upon them (looking at you, plant!), and Orochi is too busy being brainwashed.

But what about Kotar--

He's just a baby.

Hey, that battle was very epic, I might add.
I got to enjoy the "let's have fun" theme for a long time, and neither me nor Mana lost a single Borg to the very large force we faced.

my most recent rare borg addition was Met's Shijima.
The variety of borgs that I like to use is very low, so I enjoy getting a new rare borg and feeling inclined to actually use it.
It is fun to tie the enemy up in knots.

On the subject of nurse borgs, one of the best (and cheapest) combos is a nurse borg plus a Sirius.

and this is why Mana&Tama are never teamed up in story.
except for the final battle against the G. Emperor.

Shijima+Vlad=Blood Dance working perfectly 90% of the time without me having to slash once beforehand ;D

Met is so unappreciated.. He's so awesome and one of the things I like about him is.. up front.. he's just a blank canvas of a character but really you need to look deep into his character and learn more about him through the game to really appreciate his Personality and Character Development! Especially his Relationship with Tetsuya :3 (AKA Best Bromance) 


(This is what I love about the characters in Gotcha Force too, there not that developed but it means people can come up with all these awesome theories and headcannons [Orochi killing Sho's father etc.] and that just makes the characters more awesome! )
