Hi, I'm not sure If I can get much from this but I think my PSP might be broken. While I was charging it, the battery went out even though it had a couple bars of energy left. When I checked it out both my psp and the battery was really hot. I also have to use a charger that I have to fiddle with a little to get my PSP to charge (it's not a Sony brand charger). I'm not sure how many of you can answer this but I want some help because most people on GameFAQs are jerks- I means not very helpful when it comes to these issues. Help please.

That charger sounds dodgy to me. You should always use an official product when it comes to things like that.
You might have busted either the battery or the charge slot, causing failed buildup of the battery.

You might have busted either the battery or the charge slot, causing failed buildup of the battery. Well it can charge multiple portable systems, so I tried it with my DS lite and it works with it, but maybe your right. One of the days this week my friend is going to bring his PSP and charger and I'm going to see if his charger can work with my PSP, if his battery can charge with my charger or things like that. I couldn't find an official product at any of the stores around, so I was kind-of forced to use this product. UPDATE: Okay, so I brought my PSP to the local game store where they tested out the charger and the battery with other PSPs and they concluded that since I was using a car/home charger, it could have been possible that when i had it plugged when the car started, that it short-circuited when the car started. I think this was the case. Anyway since I got this used and the original owner bought it in April last year, the warranty is expired. Which means I have to get a new PSP, and that won't be happening for quite a while. Oh well. Stuff like this happens in life. just have to learn to live with it. I can be patient until I get a new one.

You sure that's what happened? I mean if your aim is to get a new PSP, you could mess about with your current one for the time being to get it working. I mean my PSP is the same. I have to fiddle with the Charger to get it to charge but it does work eventually.

Nothing wrong with having 2 PSP's. He could sell it or mod it a different way xD
