The Effects Of Post Count/Kudos/Ect

Do you think that by having Post Count/Kudos on a forum it effects weather people join?

(So without it, maybe less people would join, not that they should join just for post count, but i do think it appeals greatly to some people)

Also i have yet to find a forum with an Ect count

I have a hard time believing people would join a site just for such matters.
I think surely one (sh)would join a site with overall nice attributes and an inviting atmosphere.

Of course, there's all sorts of odds and evens out there, so who knows.

Yus Yus, i mean the same! Although people SHOULD join for other reasons, i do think some people haven't joined a forum for those reasons in the past.

I would think that having a post count would discourage new people from joining or posting as much since they might feel intimidated by large numbers, but that's just what I think.
