After recently getting a Wii, my friend advised me to take the batteries out of the Wiimote after each use. He said they'd slowly run down otherwise.
My question is, is this true?
It is becoming very tedious having to keep taking the batteries in and out of the Control. I only use it for like 2 seconds.

It still gets drained when you take it out, but I think it does so at a slower rate.

Or do you mean that other part of the Wiimote (Which i don't have) Basically, i just wanna leave the batteries in the Wiimote, but not if it will cost me a bindle bundle for batteries (I plan to buy some rechargeable ones anyway)

If you play regularly ( at least a couple of times every day), you can leave them be, but if you only play once, then leave it for days, you should remove them. Either way, the batteries will slowly be drained, but it's really not that noticeable. You should only be worried if you ain't got any spare batteries and no money to buy new ones. The same thing with the console, really. If you believe you won't be playing for a few days, you should pull the plug, since the Wii really don't have any real off-switch. This is especially important if you keep a certain setting ( something 24, dun really remember) on in your console, since that setting will still make the console run warm, even if you aren't playing. Oh, and good buy there. Now get Mario Kart and I'll kick start my own console and we'll race online.

^ XD Sorry boys but that might not be happening for lets say, another 2 years or so?
Mobile Broadband isn't good enough for online gaming and i have no money for new games.
As for the Wii getting warm when it's off, i noticed that recently so i always pull the plug. As for the batteries, i'll just leave em in ;D

Make absolutely sure NOT to get brawl too! Fixed. Honestly, I dunno if it's because my Wii was among the early ones that got shipped, but I'm 99% certain Brawl is the reason my Wii got messed up. Double-layered disc = not good, big-time.

^That affected quite a lot of the first wii's to get shipped, I think Nintendo fix them for free if you have proof of purchase date or something. Luckily my old beast still keeps on trucking despite being one of the first made

Some of them. I have Brawl and I got my Wii on launch day, so it's not all of them.
