Right okay, I've decided since I'm doing three articles, BOTW will go out tomorrow. It also makes a lot of sense since it's Hallowe'en. This thread will receive a major overhaul hopefully some time next week.
I'm very thankful that you guys are so patient and are keeping the thread alive, so thanks a lot for that :D
The borgs that will be BOTW next week are Killer Girl, Shield Witch and one surprise :3
Any questions, feel free to ask!

Sorry guys but my mum isn't very well so I have to run round after her. Also means no wii for a bit which sucks... but fear not! I shall make up for it by a triple thread bonus on Sunday in celebration of halloween! There will be Killer Girl, another borg to be known on Wed/Thur and a mystery borg that you'll just have to wait and see what it is...

Double post because otherwise it looks clustered.
Borg for 23/10/2011 is Killer Girl!
Discuss away, but remember that if you want any strategies editing in, send them to me via PM or post them in the actual thread when it's up!
On a lighter note, I've decided that if you post something really decent in here and I have time, I'll edit it into the article anyway, even if you didn't think of putting it in there, because I'm kind like that :3

BACK ON TOPIC. so how is the borg of the week + tier list thing going to work? perhaps we should bring back the borg tier list thread, and since we have different people who actually seem to care about this kind of stuff, go through each borg one by one in order to complete the tier list. so theoretically, there should be three tier list threads, 1v1, 2v2, and story mode, right? it would make things more organized, and we can add to the list, instead of discussung both the tier list as well as the BotW in the same thread. New tier list thread to be made soon (i.e. some point today) and yeah, those three tiers are it basically. Anyone wondering 'Why story mode?' Welp, if people are new to the game it cvan help them out, and it can also be used as a sort of hierarchy thing for when fighting GE (since that's probably the toughest bit of Story) The borg of the week for this week will also be announced later today when I can get time to rng everything and stoof. EDIT: About people saying 'But the coooooost' to the borg tier list, well once we've sorted out an order, I was thinking of splitting it into further tier lists (i.e. x<200 cost, 200<x<600 cost, etc.). To be honest, the cost doesn't matter too much since we can all say whether a borg is worth it, and then think about how it compares to other borgs. I think those people saying these things are overthinking stuff way too much. Either that or I'm underthinking. We'll see when the time comes. EDIT again: Courtesy of Njay; It does very measly damage, is actually quite slow and has a horrible range. Not only that but it strips you of your shield, essentially making you a Death Borg. When I tested it out and did a few story mode battles, I found it worked okay against physical weak CPU enemies, awful against anything big (like Garuda) since the flinch didn't happen at all, not even a little push back, and eh against CPU gunners (since it did make them flinch but most of the time, they just shot at me as soon as I threw it). When testing against human players, I failed every time. They dodged it with ease (and this was people who have played the game very very little before) and it left me open to them in both 2v2 and 1v1. So yeah, if you know you're going up against a team of physical CPU death borgs then it's great! But against anything else, it's really, really bad. It would be okay if it didn't strip you of your only protection.

About the shield throw....it is best used at point blank. You throw it at point blank. Any smaller borg gets stunned by it, and you can simply dash around it spamming your fanny off. The problem I had with it is that it often misses so I hadn't actually noticed that. Thanks, article updated.

Bio:This Gotcha Borg is warrior in the Knight Borg corps. He wields a Broad Sword and his shield repels any attack! Description: Hmm. Not the best borg to start this whole thing off with. He has a quite low cost so one would expect him to not be too good, but unfortunately, his only saving grace is his shield… which is rather lacklustre to be quite honest. He looks kinda cool though; I really dig his orangeness. Moves:B attack – Broad Sword; Ground: 8 (one hit) - 69 (full combo), Air: 17 His B attack is slow. Slow slow. Don’t expect to hit any Acceleration Ninjas anytime soon. However, after the first swipe, it isn’t too difficult to get in the full combo so actually, on the ground it can be quite useful – 69 damage is a nice amount to do and with some prediction and timing, you could probably get it in. In the air it’s a bit mediocre; it does low damage and is still rather slow, and you still fall once used. You can’t just hit, hit, hit, you hit once and then you fall. B charge attack – Cross-shape Slash; 52 Another physical attack? Well, I guess he is a knight. This move is fairly decent actually, providing you can stay alive long enough to charge it. Once unleashed, it hits fairly quickly, and, joking aside, doesn’t take too long to charge. It hits for a fairly nice damage although it would be nice if it were more than his B. X – Shield Slash; 35 Oh dear. Oh very very dear. The worst special move in the game in my opinion. Normal Knight throws his shield an insanely short distance – I’m pretty sure both his B moves hit further. And it also never makes the enemy flinch like other shots. It seems to work really weirdly, if the enemy is coming toward you, it hits them - but they just keep on coming almost as if absolutely nothing happened, although, with that damage I’m not surprised. Oh, and also, it gets rid of your shield for quite a long time as it’s appallingly slow for a shot. EDIT: Apparently, it's okay at point blank, stunning any smaller borg [Thanks Sgt. Steve]. Still wouldn't recommend using it mind since it strips NK of his one perk. Strategy:1v1 versus; Do not use your X move. Keep your shield and move toward them, always angling the shield so that it blocks whatever attacks they throw at you, even physical moves. It will take you ages to get to them as every attack blocked pushes you back a bit but you may get there eventually. Do not participate in aerial combat, he’s just not made for it at all and it might be a good idea to charge your B beforehand so that when you reach your target, you can strike first. This strategy will only work on insanely slow borgs. On anything else…. You’re screwed. 2v2 versus; There is almost no point in using him in 2v2 versus. If you concentrate on one enemy, the other can just hit you from behind. Again, do not use your X move, and try to stick low to the ground, and be warned, he is insanely easy to dodge. Other than that, the only advice I can offer is pray. Story; Only send him into very early-game 1v1 fights, and don’t use your X move. Again, stay low to the ground and try to get some hits in before you inevitably get stabbed in the back. Computers won’t really be able to dodge your attacks that much since they aren’t too smart. He’s okay for Story I guess. Member-submitted:Alberenza - 1v1: Knight borgs in my experience work best in 1v1, due to their shields. I would say that the shield is the main reason for using a knight borg, along with great mele. Block the bullets while getting in close 2v2: Knight borgs dont work so well because he has to keep track of two opponents to block attacks from, and while he is focusing on one has the risk of being attacked from behind. story: Good early game because hes one of the borgs encountered early. As a normal, you can practice the knight tribe with him and as a low costing borg also sees good use in the game, especially early on, if you want to use a lot of borgs in a story mode force.Sgt. Steve - Normal knight....it sucks. It's got crappy speed, a shield that rarely works, meh attack, and poor hp for a 180 point borg. The only real way it can even hurt anything without downright screwing itself if it misses is through a close range shield throw. So I have one question, WHY BOTHER?Team-mates:I wouldn’t recommend nurses as you can’t really attack enough to keep them safe and you won’t be around long enough to get a heal from them. Tanks and any other long range borgs would be great, keeping you safe from a distance and meaning you might actually be able to get close to some enemies. If you get it as a team-mate, kill it in order to get a better borg. In terms of story mode, Tsutomu, Tama and Kotaro come to mind. I’d avoid Mana due to the above reason and any mainly physical commanders such as Nekobe will only hinder you. Counters:In 1v1, anything with a decent speed. In 2v2, literally anything except the filler borgs; what I like to do is, if a player picks him, then keep that player alive and focus on the other player; you can easily dodge Normal Knight simply by moving. Story is similar to 2v2; keep him until last in the wave of enemies and then dodge behind him and shoot him. Easy enough, but remember to keep your distance just in case. Overall:Pros; + Shield + Air Jump level 3 + Okay B ground move + Orange Cons; - His cost outweighs his quality - That X move - Terrible in the air - Will last barely any time, unless your enemy purposefully keeps you alive Tier:Bottom tier. That is all. EDIT: Resized image -thadudette

^ umm, sure. I thought I posted it here then you added it to your post but its up to you. It just makers it easier to edit stuff in if it's all in one place. Plus, I'm usually quite busy on weekends, so I wont necessarily have time to check more than one topic... I dunno, just makes life easier I guess :3 Edit: Honestly though, I guess I might be able to look here as well. I dunno. You can not re-post it if you wish, but I might not edit it in then is what I'm trying to say

^Great thanks, but do you mind re-posting it in the proper thread when it goes live tomorrow? It just makes sorting stuff a bit easier XD
Also, major update to the first post so that it vaguely resembles something like a good OP

Since it makes sense to do so, I am proud to announce that this page is now the BOTW Discussion thread. I am deeply sorry that I couldn't update earlier but the Borg of this Week is....... Normal Knight!
...And without further ado... discuss. well, different borgs have their uses, and you cant really say that one borg is simply better than another. you have to say that its better in versus mode, or in story mode, or something else. for example, samurai shogun would be considered almost a god in terms of story mode, because the AI can't dodge the shogun slash. however, we players know that in a PvP match, samurai shogun is just plain terrible. slow and terrible, and thus he would be in a lower tier than if the tier list was made with story mode in mind. As for the 1v1 part, this affects the positions of support borgs on the tier list. i would love for us to make a tier list based on 2v2 fights, because that's what Gotcha Force is all about, but a lot of us can only play with a few people, so 1v1 for now, and we can save the 2v2 for later, especially when gotcha force gets more popular and people start coming up with some pretty crazy tactics with their partners. for those of you who play pokemon competitively, the tier list on smogon is built with mainly 1v1 fights in mind. sure some bits of advice tell you that one pokemon would be a good 2v2 partner with another, but you don't see a moveset that includes wide guard or something like that. Of course, can't believe I didn't see that >.< Right yeah, I think we should have three separate tiers the; 1v1 4000gf versus, 2v2 4000gf versus and story mode.It makes things fairer, and means more fun for us (I shall make a separate thread for tier list discussion... probably) I dunno, what do you guys think?

It's true. I forget when or where I read/heard it, but only one of that controller Nintendo spent half of E3 talking about can connect to the system, apparently. And I fear that detail will ruin the Wii U for me. I actually read somewhere recently that more than one could be connected but the idea is that only one connects. If that makes sense XD Here's an article stating it, but it wasn't the one I meant.

Phenominally great. It's the only rpg where I've been quite a long time in but barely made a scratch on the story. (I think I'm around 20 hours in, and up to the ridiculous fight with Xord in the Ether Mine)

also to make a tier list there needs to be rules as to what we are making a tier list for. i suggest making a tier list for versus mode, 1v1, 4000 gf energy, no repeat borgs. Call me an idiot, but I genuinely don't know what you mean by that or why it's needed XD

So, I suppose you'll make the first one next sunday? Yup, hopefully. Might make a bumper special or something :3 Edit: Yup, so since we've decided to do a tier list thing, I'm going to include an extra section on each BOTW describing where I feel it should be placed on the tier list

for the 1st BotW, I recommend....... Wing soldier! ;D Well, it'll all be done with a rng so I don't yet know what it'll be :3 Also, I was thinking of creating a tier list as we went along, so yeah. Dunno how that would work. Perhaps discussing where each new entry should be placed in the discussion thread? I dunt know XD

Colloseum is one of the best games in the series <3 Love it.
Currently replaying Cave Story for awesomeness. Also I've decided that I should bother trying to get all cards in YGO 2011 but it takes freaking forever T_T
