These are the rules for this forum:
1. Respect others. No insults towards other users.
Remember, people have different opinions and views of things. Just because you might not agree with someone else over a matter, doesn't give you the right to call people names. Opinions are most welcome, but should be discussed maturely. If you still can't keep your cool, take it to PM. Do not sully the board with your cursing.
This still means no unprovoked harassment over PM!
2. Refrain from posting mega large images on the board.
This include any type of images, even those chosen in your signature.
If you can't resize them yourself, or know someone who can do it for you, just post the link to the image.
Also: remember to use an image host! PostImages and Imageshack are two good ones.
Hotlinking is never appreciated from any party.
3. Absolutely NO talk, links, images etc, about porn, gore or any such questionable material.
We want this place to be enjoyed by everyone.
This includes PM.
As we don't want to stifle creative thought, read RPs at your discretion; consider asking the RP writer for a "content rating" if that concerns you.
4. Post in the right section.
Make sure you post new threads in the right section. Also make sure to search beforehand, to see if what you are about to post about doesn't already exists. If a thread, even if old, has already been made it's better to type in that one rather than to make a new identical thread.
5. No advertising.
Do not sign up for the sole purpose of advertising or soliciting other sites. Unless at least 10 normal posts has been made, posting links and such for site-advertisement purposes, is a no-go.
Product or service advertisement is out of the question completely and will get you in trouble.
6. No double-posting if the intention is unnecessary bumping.
The nifty "Modify" button is there for a good reason. Use it if you need to add something to one of your posts.
Do not post extra in a thread, where you already have the last post in, with a useless "bump" message for the sole purpose of bumping the thread. Unless a second post can contribute something new and/or valid to the thread, refrain from posting.
7. Inactive status.
Accounts not showing much activity, will become subject of deletion.
To show activity, a simple sign-in with at least one (1) post is enough.
If a member has noted the forum of a prolonged absence, this rule doesn't affect them, unless they disappear well beyond what they might have stated.
Fully active members with a considerable record of sign-ins and posts, will not be concerned with this rule.
8. Be safe.
It's really just common sense, people. Don't open suspicious links from strangers. Don't publicly display maps to your house. The amount of wariness you need to have can certainly vary depending on how well you know each other, but the Internet is a weird place, and GFF is on the Internet (surprise!). GFF staff will not request your login information for administrative purposes.
9. New RPers, follow basic RPing etiquette.
Consult the RP writer before you do something big, like killing a character or creating a new character arc. Let your fellow RPers know if you're taking a break from posting. In the words of one friendly member, "not posting for more than 6 hours will result in a certain, painful, and slow death."
Final Rule. The most important one of all!
Remember to have fun, make many friends and post a lot.
Other notes:
A courteous rule: Please try to be as good in your grammar as you can be. Grammatical faults always occurs and can happen to the greatest typer, but please refrain yourself from doing any obvious bad grammar/misspellings. It's more annoying than you might think.
These are subject to change. Rules might be added and/or modified so please check back here now and then.
Announcements about anything major will also be posted on the board.
