I tend to be a fan of two things in giant robots, goofy designs, and exceptionally large but somehow still functioning designs. That said I'm way behind on my backlog of Mecha Anime so my list is short to begin with in regards to actual mecha.
In Gundam my favorite so far despite the horrid impracticality/weakness of it is the Guntank(it's adorable and unique looking). Also from Gundam I also like the Turn A Gundam(it has a mustache) and Hygogg(absurdly long arms) as well as Fuunsaiki (cause the idea of a horse controlling a mecha is ridiculous and in the games it lets me make centaur mechs which is awesome) and I also like the Azieru line.
If we count toy robots in the mix Chibi Robo due to nostalgia and my general love for the game (and the series but those last several games were just painful). In Gotcha Force I don't use the robots often tbh, but Omega III (the one with the lazers) is pretty fun despite death borg frailty. Custom Robo GC I tended to main either Criminal or that one the police generic npc's liked to use that I forget the name of. The Starmen from Earthbound are robots and they have a neat classic design in my opinion (I have a Starman DX figure on my desk). Also the spinning and atomic powered robos are neat.
In terms of other giant robots...does Golurk from pokemon count? Genesect maybe? Regigigas is more of a giant/titan than robot...I think?
Macross (or at least what little I've seen) has good designs too but in a different way. I used to watch transformers a lot as a kind but they kinda fell by the wayside for me... AH, Megas XLR was fun despite the fact they never finished it. I still need to watch Evangelion and Gurren Lagann...
From Sonic maybe? Lessie, I like E102 Gamma info.sonicretro.org/images/thumb/9/92/E102-sa.png/160px-E102-sa.png (whole life story told and it's better than most Sonic writing and he has a satisfying ending and doesn't come back to ruin his sacrifice like Shadow) but he's not a giant mecha....er... Death Egg Robo is a classic (as long as we aren't talking about the forces redesign that looks nothing like the original and turns into another damn hallway boost to win final boss) OH, and Neo Metal Sonic as Metal Madness giant mecha dragon thing is cool.
I'm also probably one of if not the only person who didn't hate the ending to Darling in the Franxx, I like some of the designs there for both the protags and the enemies (well the aliens were kinda meh but they were primarily background fodder at the point they were introduced anyway...
I'd say the robobot in Kirby but then again, Kirby is only about a foot tall so that robot is at best child sized.

Aaand that's all I can think of for the moment
