^Well, the network disconnection was most likely due to someone being moody and disconnecting their network. Unless it was yours, in which case, ignore me.

I don't think you get disconnected because someone else drops off.
MK DS got hated because of that, though.

Also, around what is everyone's rating?
In races it's peaking around 7,500-8,500. I get first most races, but due to my large amount of rating I only gain about 30. About every 10 races or so I fail miserable and lose pretty much all the rating I gained in like the last 7 races (it's usually around -200 when I do badly)
Of course, I havent run into anyone with a higher rating than me since I picked this back up (2 days ago.)

Manual, I just dont play much and I also did most of my online racing back when I wasn't as good at the game. I've pretty much entirely shifted to MK7 anyway, and I dont play that much either.

Okay, so I hate Wario's Gold Mine. Even more so in Mirror. It is, in a sense, my nightmare track. There's this one curve (right past all the bats.) that F***s me over all the time.
I am currently trying to get 1star in all cups. I'm on flower in mirror right now.
I have a lead all of first lap. Beginning of second lap a spiny hits me. Not so bad. I gain my lead back. I (thankfully) get hit with lightning right as that dangerous curve comes by 2nd lap, guaranteeing me crossing it, like I did first lap. I have a decent lead by the time 3rd lap happens! But then...I FALL OFF THE CURVE. I get a Mega Mushroom, now in 6th, in the side path you take by going past mine carts. I'm thinking, (I can still get 3rd, I've gotten first the past three races by a lot so I'll get a star!)
I use the mega mushroom. I'm gonna get it! Finally! After 6 tries, I-
The one thing that can f*** me over at this point...a bullet bill. IT HITS ME ON THE LAST CURVE. I go flying...and drop to 11th.
Excuse me please....

^ MK has a very large luck based element, but theres still a lot of skill, too.
Thats whats so great and whats so bad about mario sports, it's a double edged blade that makes things more fun but more infuriating and reduces the advantage skilled players have.

Started playing MKwii wifi again. When I logged on to start i remembered why I stopped; my epic 7777 rating. But whatever, got in a room of mostly 8-9k VR rating people and got 1st to 3rd-ish most races. Sitting at about 8500 VR, the highest I've gone so far. My journey to 9999 VR is getting close to completion.

Unfortunately, Steve never reached his goal of 9999 VR. The closest he reaches was just over 9,000, and he didn't complete his goal before the shutdown of Wi-Fi. The end. Oh, but the actual reason I posted here is this.I'd heard about it, but never bothered with it. So, this hack that has been downloaded by many people and made mostly by two people, is 216, read it, TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN tracks, many of which incorporate elements better than the actual games do. Some tracks look a bit rough graphically, but it seems very sound. Oh, did I mention Wimmfi, the server that still lets you play this game (and other people with this hack) online? No? Well yeah, that's a thing. You know, it's funny, I feel like fans of franchises like this serve out better content than the original creators themselves at times. Kinda sad, to be honest. |
