The weekly Gotcha Crash!
Enough button mashing with Gold Hero, you're no warrior! How well will you die if you can only have a Jelly Diver, Killer Girl, and Pop Honey against Sho?! Time to test if you can bring the best of each borg to their best, when you can't just power through a stage with a big force of powerful borgs... No hard feelings!
What's going on here? Well, just a way to have new and exciting fun with Gotcha Force. Special challenges, to play through certain missions with a certain force of borgs. There can be a specified order for the borgs in the challenge, or just a list of borgs to use at your own disposal. There may be certain goals or restrictions to meet, i.e. start with X borg and defeat Y(/and Z) with them, or X borg can't use Y attack i.e. Metal Hero without the super blade, Star Hero without enlargement, or Cyber Hero without the charged X attack. Other things may include no hyper mode, or defeating enemies in a specific order...
They're not really meant to be super hard, especially since a lot of things come down to skill or luck in Gotcha Force. Things like enforcing how certain borgs are better against certain enemies, a test of skill with weaker borgs, general strategies, or maybe just to play through a mission with weird borgs no one really uses but have a special niche that shines in that mission. Overall, the point? Play Gotcha Force having to really dodge, have good positioning/attacks, or good force line-ups to make it through.
I'm hoping to make this a weekly thing, or every two weeks, and I'd like if I wasn't the only one posting the challenges, so maybe we can agree to have a rotation of 'hosts,' or just someone who has an idea for one posts and we'll agree to roll with that person.
So... Let's get ready for some Gotcha Crash! What's with the name? Who cares?!
The Gotcha Force Revival Revolution begins thanks to Dethy!
Edit: As an afterthought, challenges may have a much more difficult Tuff Stuff (like in the game you know?) version added on, for the true Gotcha Masters!
Gotcha Crash!
Challenge 1: Ready, Steady, Gotcha Crash!
Challenge 2: Swift Gale Escape Technique!
Challenge 3: Bullet Rain, Cylinder Shield! ~Steve
Challenge 4 (maybe): I don't actually have a creative name for this! ~Death Eye
Challenge 5: Ultimate Cannon Unit Genbu!
Challenge 6: G-Fighters Universe!
Mission: Stratosphere - The Final Battle! Defeat the Galactic Emperor!!
Borgs: Red Attacker, Blue Striker, Eagle Jet, Orange Fighter, Eagle Robot (Recommended order)
Goals: Save the Earth, super pilot!
Restrictions: Eagle Robot deploys last
Challenge: Nothing worth noting, just beat the Galactic Emperor with a fighter squadron! It's more a test of patience than difficulty until the end... You have to prioritize evasion, and take a few quick shots when there's an opening in GE's attacks. Set the stage for the ultimate transforming robot fighter, the key to finishing the Galactic Emperor!
Since this can get pretty hard, a tip: For the beam circus phase, he can't really hit you as long as you keep strafing around him, so the key is strafe-shooting with Eagle Robot and using his jet mode to stay on the move constantly in a circle. A fighter can put up a fight, too, though. You have to be very patient while strafing and find the pattern to how his shots lock on to you and your allies, and react with tap-boosts to dodge the volleys locked on to you, and capitalize on his his small cooldowns.
Tuff Stuff x2: You're not a coward, you're a super pilot! Stop using GE itself as cover! Stay above him and dodge like a true shmup master!

Gotcha Crash!
Challenge 1: Ready, Steady, Gotcha Crash!
Mission: Stone River - The decisive battle! Defeat the Dark Knight!!
Borgs: Arrow Ninja,KillerSHADOW Girl, Copy Man (Fixed a depressing miscommunication fail that made this whole thing a joke)
Goals: None
Restrictions: None
Challenge: Starting a bit simple. Just beat the mission! No restrictions, so go at it however you will, and remember you can just defeat the Dark Knight to immediately end the stage. There's basically a certain order of borgs and strategies with each borg I have in mind, and I'm not sure if you guys can come up with anything else, but if you do, go ahead. It should be fairly simple. The final wave can be a little tight, but it should be pretty possible with the right execution once you get in range. Just to kick things off, have a hint: Assassinate the Dark Knight even if you have to use special means to end it ASAP!
Tuff Stuff: Defeat ALL of the knights in the final wave!

Challenge 2: Swift Gale Escape Technique!
Mission: Construction Zone - Watch out! Demon Samurai!
Borgs: Wing Dragon, Kung-Fu Master
Goals: Survive for two minutes at the start with Wing Dragon, and defeat the two Demon Samurai with Kung-Fu Master.
Restrictions: Shooting Death Bombs with lasers is illegal!
Challenge: The goal is the whole challenge. Try to stay alive for two minutes with Wing Dragon. It's going to take some situational awareness and boost management. Once you get the hang of it it isn't too hard, but it's easy to mess up with the sluggish Wing Dragon and the large explosions he can barely avoid. But he does have a secret technique... And after that, let Kung-Fu Master take over against the two Demon Samurai. He also fights like the wind! But it may not be the best idea to use his signature whirlwind as the field is being bombed... Can the fists of his soul stand up against blades as big as the universe?!
Tuff Stuff: Don't use Wing Dragon's Wing Attack, and fight with only melee!

Challenge 3: Bullet Rain, Cylinder Shield! ~Steve
Mission: Stone River - 100 Rounds from the Gatling Gunner!
Borgs: Army Robot
Goals: Win.
Restrictions: Do not attempt to dodge incoming fire, and do not air dash or dash.
Challenge: The whole point of this challenge is not to win by dodging, that's too easy! Instead, you are to use any cover you can use to block enemy fire and take the battle strategically as opposed to the standard "high action be fast destroy" style Gotcha Force initially offers.
Tuff Stuff: Don't get hit at all.

Mission: Red Death Lair - The Dragons' Den!
Borgs: Shadow Girl, ICBM Tank, Victory Tank
Goal: Win.
Restrictions: Don't lose.
Challenge: Pretty straightforward, just take this somewhat obscure combination of Borgs and slay some Dragons. Probably not very difficult, but it'll definitely take a bit more strategy than "dodge the breath lasers, Shogun Slash, repeat until victory."
Tuff Stuff: Don't use the power boost.

Challenge 5: Ultimate Cannon Unit Genbu!
Mission: Little Hill - Defeat the Ultimate Cannon Unit!
Borgs: Cyber Mars
Goals: Combine and take victory!
Restrictions: Must bring Kakeru as an ally
Challenge: Simple enough, right? Beat the stage with your giant robot! Cyber Mars can dance circles around the cannons and even soak up some of their ultimate blasts, but the real battle is one of attrition, those Arrow Ninjas and Bug Witches can really force you to take some damage. And... Making Kakeru deploy in his Machine Blue by having the Ultimate Cannon's blast take him down two times (pretty sure the thing only aims directly at you). It's intense training for him!
And then, unleash your ultimate power with power burst transformation into Cyber Machine Genbu!
Tuff Stuff: Cyber Machine Genbu only has one shot of its charged ultimate cannon, make it count (preferably ending the stage with it)!
