I have always wondered how to use the dragons properly. I usually just sit wherever I spawn and spam X and B. However, I've heard people here talking about jump-canceling and other crazy stuff, so I suppose it really is worth it to get in the air despite how slow the dragons are. So could somebody maybe explain me how to perform these tricks and what is the best way to play dragons in general?

With a dragon you'll probably be moving a lot vertically, and only horizontally if you're in a really bad position. Using either of your attacks while holding the jump button gets you air at no cost to your boost gague. 1. Jump and press breath after you're a bit in the air. 2. Keep jump boosting, alternating between bomb and breath when nessecary. 3. If you need to move, begin boost dashing and use breath. The awkward "death from above breath" has its only use here.
Bomb vs. Breath: Both of your attacks have distinct purposes and uses. Use them well together and just about everything crumbles beneath you.
Bomb uses: -Hits opponents below you where your breath cannot reach. Your breath can only hit so far below you, and the bomb deals with pesky enemies who linger under you, knocking them away. -Auto turning. When a dragon uses a bomb it automatically turns to the borg it's locked onto. If you're faced away from the action, this is the quickest and most reliable way to get back into the fray. -Waiting. Your breath attack, while charging quickly, is not instant. Use this to keep attacking. -It's better for taking out weak borgs. I'm not talking Normal Ninja level, I'm talking death borg level. It's more reliable for hitting, even if it's far weaker.
Breath uses: -Movement. It's your best way of moving, both vertically and horizontally. Nuking. Dragon breath from large dragons is arguably the best attack in the game. In the air it turns much faster than the ground, it's incredibly accurate, and the only attack capable of one-shotting every non-fortress in the game (even Garuda is OHKO'd by this incredible attack.) Hyper Mode Spam: In hyper mode the hits become faster, stronger, and spammable. A Hyper Mode dragon makes short work of EVERYTHING. It can take out the bulkiest fortresses in a matter of seconds.
Walking attack uses: It's only use is as a Plasma Dragon. If you get knocked onto the ground and someone is right on you, you can step on them to send them flying.
What to watch out for as a dragon: Metal Hero. If you don't notice him he will OHKO you. No questions asked. ICBMs and Ultimate Cannon: If you let them hit you you will either die (smalldragon) or take a large chunk of health (large dragon) Fortresses. They can tank your breaths and knock you out of the sky.
Small Dragons aren't that great as they can be knocked out of the sky easily and have a small amount of hp, but large dragons are fantastic as the only thing knocking them around are fortresses, and they do much more damage. I recommend Flame and Plasma Dragon. Flame is the cheapest and arguably the best. Plasma however, has a better bomb for getting foes away. Blizzard is less useful due to its bombs not launching, but rather freezing, which unfortunately isn't too good. Cosmic I don't recommend because it's B attack doesn't launch (it's a laser) and it doesn't turn all the way when using it's B attack. However, the black hole and extra HP can be helpful.

Metal Hero has the weakness of flying out of his armor if hit by a strong explosion, so your Bomb attacks should be fine against him. Although Blizzard Dragon's freezing ability doesn't make the opponent fly away, the opponent is frozen long enough for you to ice breath, which does a heap of damage, so don't hesitate to use Blizzard Dragon I also agree with Steve that Cosmic Dragon isn't too good in singles, but in doubles it's one of the better borgs, as cyber ninjas won't be able to spam their attacks. It makes for a good spam counter, really. Small dragons are out of the question, because they're just as slow as their larger counterparts, but can also be flinched by smaller borgs.
