If it's the wrong section for this, then I apologize; Please move it to a correct one.
So, here's what I've been thinking... With regards to "favorite" Borgs, are any of those truly 'your' Borg? Basically what I'm getting at, is that everyone who posts here has to list what their partner Borg is, and what sort of Borgs they typically would add to their team, as Kou(Or whatever you named him) goes through the adventure. And we are following the same rules as the game itself, in the sense that nobody has the same partner Borg. Although, if a Borg has an alternate color, then you are allowed to use that instead.
Me? My partner would be Ruby Knight; Team by the end of the game would be Panther Vehicle, Time Bomber, Hammer Robot, Eagle Robot, Ruby Knight.
EDIT:
When I said nobody can have the same Partner Borg, this is an example of what I mean- Kakaeru(w/e) has Sasuke as his partner; Nobody can include Sasuke in their Force, nor can they use him as their Partner, as it's always owned by Kakaeru. X person has Normal Ninja as their Partner; Same logic applies as the above^ Y person has Alternate Normal Ninja as their Partner; Same logic applies^ Z person can't use Sasuke, Normal Ninja, or Alternate Normal Ninja, since it is owned by the above 3. Crystal/Silver/Gold/Shadow Borgs don't count.

This section is fine How OP can partner borgs be? Since nobody in the game has a partner Samurai Shogun or Beam Tank ... Then again, there's G Red and the Death Arc and Garuda... I have to call dibs on alt Barrier Girl then, her design is awesome, her weapon is just so cool, and we all kind of know how OP a well used Barrier Girl can be. I love Beam Gunner but as a partner borg come on. Barrier Girl. My team by the end would probably be something like Teleport Ninja, Command Girl, Shuriken Ninja, Beam Gunner (if that's allowed ) and Barrier Girl. I really need to learn to use some Machine borgs...

well, id take a blue striker as its a good borg if used correctly. basicly beam spam borgs who are on ground level and use missiles for whoever is left.
Team
G Black (650) Beam Wing Red (400) Death Saucer (1,000) Blue Striker (200)
Total - 2,250 (less than Tama's Borg Grinder mode side)

My all-time favorite borg is Normal Ninja (NOT Sasuke). There's always room for him on my team, he's fun to use, and he can kill a lot of enemies for his low cost (well not human players, but...) I also enjoy using Ice Valkyrie, Barrier Girl (fist bumps Thaddie), Teleport Ninja, Metal Hero, Arrow Ninja, and my boy Sonic Samurai (alt color, of course )

What I meant to say, was that no team can include a main partner that is used by an existing in-game Commander(IE, Death Ark, Kei, etc), nor can you can use a Borg like that, that belongs to someone else. Like how you said your partner would be Barrier Girl; This prevents other people from making teams with Barrier Girl on it, in addition to being able to choose stuff like Garuda, G Red, etc.... And teams don't have to be overpowered if you don't want them to. I mean, Usagi, for example, her Borgs are Girls with low HP/DEF/etc, yet, shes a much better partner then some of the others are, simply because her AI is that amazing.

Kakeru gets Cyber Ninja, and let's not forget Sho's partner. I don't think there can be a more OP borg than those

It's a little difficult to not have duplicates, as so many borgs in the game are used by characters...
Anyway, I've just had a bit of an epiphany thinking about this. I always drift to Teleport Ninja, but... Shuriken Ninja... It's amazing. Its design screams giant robot ninja, and its X attack is fun like no other. Gives him high versatility to fight all kinds of borgs, even air, which is what makes an ideal borg for me. Spinning through stuff and flying across the map is so fun and stylish, the closest thing to cutting enemies with a flying surfboard, and he's still not a bad borg in non-X-attack aspects.
So... I would say Shuriken Ninja would be my signature borg. Good all rounder and stylish.
Double Ninja would be next, because Normal Ninja is a pretty solid unit, but double just adds the amazing shadow clone gimmick.
Beam Wing Blue, because I love flying borgs and they're versatile. Blue's scope allows for fighting faster and longer range units if need be, and is otherwise well-rounded.
Jet Hero because of the above, but he's so dang fun, too. He can't utilize his own scope so well, unfortunately. But either way, he's a melee-based flier. That diving drill melee is amazing in usefulness and style.
Switching Ninja because he looks really cool and has some interesting niches... His bullets are unique and very nice for aiding melee.
Drill Robot for the team tank and drills and robots (and rocket punches) go hand in hand since before Gurren Lagann. Can't go wrong with his gimmick to dodge some ultimate cannons and stuff, either.
I think that's about a full team with balanced GF energy. It's a team of stylish and versatile borgs.
Honorable mentions to Copy Man. and maybe Axe/Hatchet Knight or Chainsaw Knight. Eagle Robot if large machines weren't broken.

Does that go for the main partner or every borg in the force? I mean, many borgs show up as normal enemies... Like Cyber Ninja or some tanks. You see several borgs characters use in several missions.
Kakeru doesn't 'main' Normal Ninja, which also has many appearances outside of him, and heck, Kou even starts with one. The thing is no repeats means a good chunk of the game is off limits, alt colors aside.
I would say it's fair game for us to actually choose and customize one borg from the game as a partner... That's what all the commanders have. i.e. I choose Shuriken Ninja, but replace the blue with white, give an attack or two a special animation, and call it Hakumen.
