Did you ever heard of 3D Printers? These are kinda expensive right now, but in a few years I bet they'll be as common as our "normal" printers. These things can "print" a 3D object by feeding them a 3D model.
Know what that mean? We can make cell phone "shells", little pendants.. or we could make toys based directly on video games models!
And some topic here (can't link) implies at least one guy here ripped Gotcha Force models.. the same pictures used can be found on some VG Resource site.. (looks like smithy is not active anymore tho)
Did you do the math? With 3D Printers and those models, we could make our own GF figures! Who's impatient for 3D Printers now? If you could "print" a GF model, what would you get? I'd totally get a Barrier Girl figure, in a ass-kicking pose. Would totally own next to my 3DS and/or laptop.
..well time to save up now..

I've always wanted to print out models from some indie mech games since I learned 3D printers can use game models.
For Gotcha Force, printing out the entire collection is mandatory. Starting with Teleport Ninja or Eagle Robot.

Yes, just, yes. Gold Hero with black armor, here I come. And yes, I mean gold hero. Axion is on his way.

Why didn't I ever realize this? Though they'd probably be mostly one color or another, which isn't quite a full-blown figurine but would still be pretty awesome. I'd start with a Death Eye. Or I bet a Valkyrie would look great as a figurine

This whole 3D printing thing sounds super fly~ Custom models will abound and good times will be had by all. And I can always print off a set of house keys if I ever lose mine.

I highly doubt that a hand-painted 3D printed model can be anywhere close to as good as a figure that typically comes out of the industry, expertly modeled, painted, and detailed. I'm still really interested in seeing where 3D printing can go.

I'm personally expecting a few "Complications" when it comes to 3D printers progress, but if they can get it done more power to them. Materials and scale could be the first complications that come about, but there's always possibilities to be considered. . . There is similar work being done to "print" organs in biogel, but that is not the focus of this discussion. At least, it wasn't. . .

A lot of people even paint colored figures because besides the models that cost $100+, they're always painted with the minimum quality for production budgets. A lot of model kits even come completely in unpainted pieces. But of course, on the other hand, painting models requires a lot of tools and very hard precise work, so it's not something someone who just wants a model can do on a whim better than a company.

First of all, I know this is an older thread, but I'm still gonna treat it like it's current. Second, if given the chance to have a correctly made Victory King, I wouldn't hesitate. Third, as far as 3D printing goes, I think making the Borgs in their base parts colors wouldn't be asking much. The rest of the details could be stickered on, with the areas where the stickers go sunk in a layer so you could correctly apply them. Finally, to everyone who doesn't know me yet, hi, I'm Ultima. I joined a few days ago. Update: Now that I've actually made an OC borg, I would definitely make Ultima a real action figure.
