I used to love, love, love Gotcha Force as a child and one fateful day I lent the game to a friend only for it to get lost and never return again. Now that I'm finally old enough to feel nostalgia towards my youth it seems that all the copies have more or less vanished off the face off the earth leaving only a scant few on websites like ebay for $70 and up. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get a copy or if anyone here had a spare that they would be willing to part with for a reasonable price. Thanks for reading and sorry if these types of posts are frowned upon, I didn't see anything in the rules regarding it but I scoured over 25 pages of search engine results with 0 luck so I figured it couldn't hurt to try here.

Welcome aboard Gotcha Force Fan. On the off chance you'd stay more than a week.
My God, friends are terrible people. They always lose or break your favorite games. Always. Well, sorry to say, getting ripped off may be your only choice. This game was hard to find even back in its days... You might get lucky if you search for an used copy in game stores. But no one here is really the online bargaining type to give up and barter their game here.
I mean, I know everyone here fairly well, but there's a small chance I may be proven wrong... I just wouldn't get my hopes up.
Last thing I can tell you if all else fails, is if your computer isn't too bad for gaming, you might want to look into emulating it which is entirely possible. Guess that's also kinda frowned upon sometimes, maybe, but the way I see it, if you have or had a legit copy, knock yourself out.

I really have no idea if this sort of thing is frowned upon, we haven't really ever gotten this sort of post (as surprising as it is). It should be perfectly okay. Whether or not it'll get you anywhere is another matter entirely, though. I don't know that anyone here has a spare copy to give in the first place, let alone to some guy they don't even kind of know, and unfortunately with it being as rare as it is you're pretty much definitely not finding it for a sane price anywhere. Unless somebody pops in here with some other solution your best bet is probably to double-check every online retailer ever, then either get yourself $70 or go on a cross-country tour of every GameStop in the country, they never got the memo about it being rare and one of those cult classic sorts of games so you can easily get it for the low, low price of the same price as Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2 of all things provided you find the one GameStop that still has a copy.
Welcome to the forum, by the way.

I had a similar problem when i joined. I found a copy on ebay after browsing it for a week for $20 case and instructions included. However i had to sort through adds for like $120 and up for just the disc. I also think i had to bid, which i usually circumvent now by sending them a message saying "hey ill buy this right now for $x if your good with that" and then attempt to bargain with them. I have also doscovered that some guys are jerks and wont do that lol.
Anywho welcome to the forums, hope you stay and be a part. Oh and uh check game exchange? They may chance upon a used copy and sell it for like $9 as thats usually what they do. Based on its original retail price of $19.99 (i think thats what i paid as a kid)

Thanks for the suggestions, I still need to check local game stores and whatnot but I guess I'll have to scan ebay neurotically for a copy under the price of a new game for this generation. I may end up just emulating it but I'm not quite sure my laptop can handle it. It's not terrible for a prebuilt laptop, but it's still a laptop. If there's one game worth risking frying my laptop its Gotcha force though.

Well hello
2 things
1 why is this not in the intro section
2 with my experience with emulation, it won't fry a laptop but it will not run as smooth as on console. As i used a normal ninja and died to a claw robot.
On the ebay note, i got mine for £30

why is this not in the intro section Because it's not an introduction. Like, at all. It definitely won't fry a laptop unless it can't run it at a decent speed and you keep running it anyway. And even then your computer would have to somehow not have overheat protection of any sort for it to actually get fried. Which really shouldn't happen. Also there's no guarantee it won't run as smoothly, if your prebuilt laptop is somehow really good it'll run fine.

Yeah like others have said, getting lucky in GameStop or constantly refreshing ebay would probably be your best bet to find this game at a reasonable price. Few years back I saw a used copy at Gamestop for maybe $20-30.

Game exchange however... probably doesnt have it. You could luck out though.

Yeah, it looks like I'm going through the internet for this. Nothing in the area had it, and used game cube games in general were in short supply everywhere it seems. Hoping to get the game and just play it casually for a bit, but I would love to try and speed run it once I get accustomed to it in the future. Does anyone happen to know if people actually speed run gotcha force or not?
