So i have been trying to get good with ultimate cannon for awhile now, and i have found he is rather gimmicky. For instance the ultimate blast thing doesnt auto lock. So if you arent aimed right. You will miss. While its b attack is rather decent (what with the rapid fire of a gattling gunner, and the missle spamming of a hyper mode claw robot) it can deal out a good bit of damage. Except when the missile miss.... which is 90% of the time for me. Maybe im using it wrong? Idk, anyways its x attack is good. It auto locks, homes in, does good damage.... oh wait you mean i cant fire it without letting go of x to stop chargin mah lazer? Well thats utterly useless then. Besides it only gets what like 2 shots? Bleh. Not worth it. Then theres the uber lazer. Great attack. Ohkos most everything. 2 -4 hits on bigger borgs though. Wait 2-4 im not sire i calculated that right. Used him against cdd..... yea the ult blast took off like 1/10 of his health bar at best. Not so useful against bosses then. So next its stats. So its attack isnt bad, its hp is pretty decent. Especially if you level it up, but its defense? Eh i guess its okay, until you factor in its almost nonexistant speed. Good gracious this thing is slow. Not just its charge time either. Have you ever tried to move the thing? It takes half its jump guage just to get it airborne enough to move. Then maybe like two inches and you fall again. A big dragon stomping across the map moves faster. And thats saying something. Then you factor in the charge speed for its attack... it could be a tad shorter or longer. Shorter for you longer for the AI  seriously though, for the ammount of damage it does... its a decent charge time. Wait whats that icbm tank does roughly the same attack with no charge time?! Remind me why im using uc again then? Pretty sure icbm costs less too, so theres that. In hyper mode watch out, because its death spam lazer all the way. Even if it is only like 3 shots before hyper mode is over. It cant kill itself so it has that over icbm tank at least. Having said... er typed all that, im left to wonder would it have been better to name it "not ultimate cannon" or "the not quite ultimate cannon" Oh wait i forgot, if you can manage to stick him on top of a fortress borg, he does manage to survive longer, because the fortress soaks up half of the damage he would get hit with. And hey, he looks really cool right? So hes got that going for him. |

Wouldn't it miss most of the time if you placed it on top of a fortress borg? Those things are fairly high up, and probably not worth the hassle to get it up there anyway.
On the other hand, carrying it around with a carrier helicopter. That might be interesting.

Yeah, Ultimate Cannon's a bit ridiculous to get good with. You pretty much want to target whichever enemy will get into close range first and make sure they don't. The B attack is obviously your main means of damage and knockback, the Quaternary Beam is for when something's getting a little too close for comfort and/or you're reloading, and the Ultimate Beam is for when you're literally staring your own death in the face. Or want to use the Quaternary Beam but have a full charge.
As for moving... yeah, don't do that. Every moment you spend trying to move is a 3-second window for everything with a melee attack to get in close range and eat you alive. Unless you really need that wall out of your way, don't even think about it. But do note that this refers to trying to move, if you get sent flying across the stage exploit that for all its worth.
You're pretty much always better off with a Flame Dragon, but it's not entirely useless if you're looking to be stylish about annihilating the world.

Eh it really only blocks like a fourth of the machine gun fire al. The missiles shoot upwards and the mega lazer fires through it.
Carier heli though..... interesting idea. May have to test that somehow.

Ultimate's shiny color looks much better.
That aside- Be pro and build up your Burst Gauge, THEN have Canon out for it to mooch off that. Bursted Ultimate Cannons are scary.

Moreso in my hands because im always whoring charge attacks. Except the sucky ones. Like neos chest beam. I barely use that at all (as a kid i whored the mess out of it though.) Idk i feel like uc would benefit from having more hp overall. Or a higher defense stat. Or both. Because even though its a tank borg, it handles like a fortress. Meh. Why not make it immobile? Actually having said that, the three space cruiser borgs all have giant thrusters on their backs. Anyone wonder why capcom made them immobile? Granted they dont really NEED to move, but itd be a nice touch if they did. |

Thought it is a surprisingly underpowered strategy, I enjoy using a Ultimate Cannon / Pop Honey combo.

Their damage output is low, sure, but their speed is near-instant, they pierce through everything, and charge quickly. If you feel like being a coward you could destroy anything that can't pierce through walls or dodge your lasers consistently. Ultimate Cannon really does need more health though. a LOT more health, since it's slower than a dragon, weaker than a dragon and less sturdy than a dragon. |

yea steve, it was a touch of sarcasm the g series beam is good, except against anything that builds up the calus to it, best thing about gotcha force, spammed attacks cause less damage the more you get hit by them. so it is not a good strat to simply spam chest lazers against anyone except sho the first time, hide behind tree, charge fire. win. simple XD oh and after a couple of months hiatus due to working again and homework, and classes, and.... religious zealotry? i am again returned. because i am the cancer of gff, not even radiation gets rid of me!...... that was a horrid statement even for me.... ima go and... die now... or something equal to that. |

itd be useful for her too, except uc is already a pretty big target, and while the large size increases defense (?) it doesnt increase health, so you are just harder to hit, and while the super beam is bigger, and technically would do more dmg, it already has a pretty much entire map hit box anyways, so it wouldnt really add too much lol. ill have to try it next time im around my wii and gotcha, which will probably be this summer if i keep procrastinating about finding a summer job here where im at school lol.
