Yeah, guess you two are right. I could continue discussing my opinion, but I'll ignore the fact that less than half of the animes I've seen are mecha, and have watched nearly everything Al has suggested for me to and liked them (and currently watching another of those suggestions), and I'll just sit here and think narrow-minded, generic, unappreciative thoughts all day. Case closed, as closed as my mind. Why not continue discussing it? I'm interested. When I insult you you're supposed to prove why you're not closed minded, that's how the narrative of conversation works. People can be so boring when offended, and besides that, it feels too easy to win an argument when the opposing side gives up on the second turn... unless the original post counted as a turn, in which case, that was turn three... *shrug* EDIT: Oh and by the way, what anime are you watching, out of curiosity? I just started watching Fullmetal Panic. It felt like the shortest episode to something that I've ever watched...

When you insult me, that's the narrative of personal jabs. And you weren't the only one. Remember how you said not long ago that you take offensive remarks seriously? You're not the only one. It ruins my mood, I hate arguing when it gets down to a more personal level and I worry too much about what people think of me. Never mind that bringing up Jam Project was completely satirical.
But my thoughts on Kill la Kill stand. My nitpicks weren't out of proportion, I said it has a lot of fanservice, and critiqued the animation style, in a simple sentence. Just two outlining elements I happened to list. But to put it simply, I just wasn't very hooked into the series, much like you didn't like one of my own favorites.
As for what I'm watching now, it should suffice to say that it makes the day that today is even lonelier.

As for what I'm watching now, it should suffice to say that it makes the day that today is even lonelier. I am evidently masochist and sadist... I like it when my own perspective is put into question. I also wouldn't discourage anyone from saying what they want about me... though I guess not everyone is like that. The weird thing about debates with you is that you make a valid criticism, I counter, then you stick to the same criticism with a 'it's my opinion' rather than a legitimate defence. It's frustrating to feel like I'm talking to a wall. I didn't dislike Busou Renkin, though it didn't hook me. I love the opening and the action was fine, I guess the problem I have with your favourite shows is that they offer little to me in terms of plot- not that they're bad, but I guess if I were to be as scathing as possible I'd say that they were... Generic, I suppose, as overused as that criticism is. Which doesn't make it inherently awful, but it doesn't put them at the top of my priorities. I wouldn't consider watching such shows to be akin to torture. I'm guessing that you're watching either Shiki or Haruhi.

I said what I think, you said what you think. There's no real reason to keep going on. Our opinions on a matter like this differ and that's likely not going to change. If I told you Busou Renkin developed more serious character development and plot, you're not going to find it any more appealing. You can call it generic but aside from its premise I would defend it isn't. When I don't argue any further it's when the discussion becomes mostly subjective, and I just don't like to, anyway. I aim for agreement, boring or not.
I'm curious as to what you say my favorite animes are, though... I don't think you've really seen any of mine to be able to call them generic. Busou Renkin is the only one I think, which you left unfinished, and that's the only one I think you could possibly call generic because of the very typical shonen first arc.
Shiki... I'm not getting lonely because of people dying. Revisiting an old crush on Valentine's day.

Busou Renkin?Throw me a bone and I might bite, I tried FMP today and I'll give it a few more episodes. It probably wasn't the best time for me to press my intense debates borderline arguments if you were like this today. Sorry, I just really like debates and sharing subjective opinions even if they are pointless. I mean even if the opinions don't change, it does help me understand your viewpoint more and it does STRENGTHEN my opinion even more as I'm able to contextaulise why I like the show. I find people who are just like 'I like this show just 'cause' to be fairly boring on occasion.

I'm fine with debating, but there shouldn't be a need for insulting, especially after just a small paragraph stating I didn't like it. If I were so narrow minded, I'd not give it a chance, and if I loved generic stuff, I could make my whole anime lineup Gundam series and the current mainstream animes. No one called you narrow minded for not liking Attack on Titan.
About those animes I like... Aquarion EVOL isn't generic and without a plot. One of the most unique mecha animes I've ever seen. Starts slightly cliche but it gets into its own gear once the whole mech thing is set up. Full of crazy puns and metaphors, ridiculous moments, nice subplots, and hilariously awesome scenes, and the main story expands a lot at the end. Gargantia... Is there any other anime about getting stranded in a totally foreign ocean world with only a mech with AI and adapting to the society? The only animes I've seen for action without regards to its story are Super Robot Wars: The Inspector, and Busou Renkin. Action and a huge mecha roster are the selling points of the first, and the latter took me by surprise when I simply wanted something lighthearted to watch, because the OP and burning rocket greatlance and general designs were very appealing, but it turned out way better and thoughtful than it appeared at first glance.
Hope you'll like Full Metal Panic, though. It's far from generic. It should be. It's an original story overall and the mech battles are strategical and military style, with a system in place for shonen moments that are very sparse but great. The characters are the best part. It's my number one anime, anyway...
And while another lone wolf Valentines day goes by, I really was just joking. Although I wish I had a Haruhi in my life. This is also all off-topic.

Sadly, the epic has come to an end(for now). My favorite character was definitely Gamagoori. Mofuddin APC to the max in the last episode.

Yes, I believe an episode 25 OVA was announced for later this year. Something to do with graduation. In any case, I look forward to what Trigger does next. Kill la Kill is going to make a lot of money, so hopefully their production values will be much higher for the next show. Kill la Kill already displayed incredible amounts of talent in the animation department, so I hope all the new money doesn't cause them to get lax in the next show.
