You know what would make for a cool thread? A thread that was just a collection of really cool album art. Why don't we already have this? Well my friends, this will be that thread. Post album art you think is really cool, really well done, or simply really neat. This thread is all about appreciating album art. I look forward to seeing what others post. I gotta lead off this thread with something really epic, so here is the cover for Lost Horizon's A Flame to the Ground Beneath.

Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea? There is a band I haven't heard of for awhile. It really is too bad that they stopped making music after only 2 albums... Really dig the art on that, although I still find the lady's tambourine head kinda spooky.

^... ? (This was originally intended to be pointing at Dethy's post) And sorry Dilly, I find yours more funny than epic... Welp, here's some of my favorites. And on the more serious side... I'll probably post more later on.

Man, I never knew that King Gainer had such odd art... I dig it. Then again, that show has a pretty all around weird esthetic. Although that is mainly because I was never able to get over the fact that the mech has dreds And sorry Dilly, I find yours more funny than epic... I think that it is both awesome and ridiculous. I mean, they are STANDING ON TORNADOES IN SPACE!I'll probably post more later on. Please do

This is the cover of Manilla Road's album Mark of the Beast. They have a lot of slick album art, but this one is probably my favorite. I have a friend who has this art on a shirt. It looks super classy and I am super jealous. I might post more of Manilla Road's album covers at some point, but there is so much great album art out there that I might not get around to it for awhile. Also, guess what is my new desktop background Link to the full size mvdb2b.com/i/300dpi/ROCK027-F-2.jpgYes, it gets bigger.

In light of all the snow we have been getting in MAY I thought that this album art would be appropriate. The art on this is pretty cheeky in that it is embracing the hipster image to be ironically bad. But I am fond of this album art mainly because I think that Louis Armstrong makes for a great Santa Clause.

This one may be more just because of how much I love the game itself and its music and all the funny/cool designs, but... Mischief Makers: And here's one I find to be really simple yet really cool. Busou Renkin OST:

This art is for Budgie's Never Turn your Back on a Friend. Oddly enough, I am pretty sure that the bird is not actually a budgie... ( link to full size image)

Elegant, beautiful, artsy without being fartsy I like the album art for Lungs a lot. Oddly enough, there are, like, 8 different versions of this album...

I'm pretty sure this is both the greatest album cover and album title possible: explorers 6 also has super nifty art

I don't really know that many more album arts, really... But this is one I like, the R-Type Final soundtrack. I just like how clean it looks, with several ships lined up in pure whiteness, with depth of field. And their mirrored reflections among the whiteness.

I just saw this album in the discount rack at my local music store and had to have it. Not just because it is a Loggins album, but also because of the cover art. Look at this glory, this majesty. Ya know... He kind of looks like Jesus. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this album had a cover of "I've got the whole world in my hands." Check out the full size. It is HUGE. It is currently my desktop wallpaper.

Who here has heard of Blind Guardian? Well, before they were Blind Guardian they were Demons and Wizards. This is the only album of theirs I have (unfortunately), and the cover art is just as great as the album itself.

I just got 2 new albums Jag Panzer' Ample Destruction and Liege Lord's Master Control. Both are classic 80's power metal bands. While I like the Panzer album more, I gotta share the Liege Lord album art. It is so cool, so sleek, so gloriously 80's. Metal is the best genre because it's the only one where you can unironically put a space marine with a big F-off gun on the cover.

This one is just mesmerizing. I found it at my local library a few years back. Funkadelic usually has a lot of NSFW covers, but then there is this glorious little thing. And unfortunately I have not found a version big enough to be able to read that little comic.
