Hail teams, yeah. They are crippingly overspecialised.
Sunny teams? Oh hell nah. Clearly you haven't been playing competent teams. Exeggutor (Life Orb) and Daruma (Choice Scarf) in the sun are two of the most horrifying things in Pokemon. They can sweep almost entire teams if sun is up. Hell, any half-decent Chlorophyll Growth user can scare people, since they can wallbreak. I remember I fought a guy running a Chlorophyll Victreebel with Growth, Sludge Bomb, Hidden Power (Fire), and Power Whip. Scary stuff.

speaking of weather conditions, I'm looking for a drizzle politoed because I really want rain on my team. with rain my team will be improved 10 fold!
So, anyone have one they can trade me? I have Zorua's and pokerus up for trade, actually, I dont have much. I would go hunt for one in the dream world, however I would only have an hour per day, racking up dream points to unlock it is hard and time consuming, and I really need to lay off the internet pages that require a lot of memory to load. Even youtube is a no no most of the time. Nine tails would be an ideal partner for drought, in regards to the pokemon mentioned Evil mentioned above.

i think weather effects are really cool. i run a hail team (duh), and its really only for fun, since there isn't much going for hail teams (except maybe WALLrein, that's pretty hilarious) so i'm thinking about making a rain dance team. mostly because of hydration dewgong, motivated because of sandstorm teams running excadrills... and succeeding. and alberenza, if you get a drizzletoed, can you share the wealth pleeeeaase? ;D so, just got PO over the weekend, and i am sad to report that my ninjask lead team for fourth gen has gotten wupped more than half the time. the other less-than-half has gone normally, with them forfeiting like a buncha sissies

drizzle politoeds are so hard to come by. I'll trade them to everyone if I get one. Anyway, so, who do you guys think is better? Hydregion or Haxorus
Personally, I prefer Hydregion. Pure epicness. Besides, I like dark types in general and because I run him with surf, he works perfectly for me.
Anyway, my EV trained Lucario seems to have been a success. but my bestest pokemon is my Scizor, not EV trained but he is godly. I mean seriously, that little hell raiser might as well be considering how strong he is. ... is 315 attack a good thing on scizor? And, is running scizor and lucario on the same team a good idea?

And, is running scizor and lucario on the same team a good idea? Probably. But what do I know? (Answer: not much.)

alberenza: much appreciated. but only females can breed on abilities, right?
im not too sure which one is better, since Haxorus is physical and Hydregion is special. i would think that hydregion would be better though, even though i like physical attackers better, since he has such a versatile moveset.
315 is pretty average on a scizor, and optimally it should be about 50-70 points higher, assuming you have a neutral nature like jolly. if its adamant, then you should be in the 400s.
as for pairing it up with lucario, since they're both steel-types, then they're both immune to toxic spikes, sandstorm, and are both sweepers. the only problem is that they're both sweepers, and they both need to set up. so once that fire type comes into play, say an infernape, hopefully your speed's good enoughto outmatch it before it kills you, or you have something else o nyour team that can kill it. scizor can be walled by so many things, mostly water types, and lucario can't do much against them either, especially when Jellicent is in question. both have priority moves, with bullet punch, extremespeed and vacuum wave, which all need to be buffed in order for them to actually be of any use.
taking all of this into consideration, its not like a perfect match in heaven or anything, but they can jump in for each other to do pretty much the same jobs, and you'll definitely need help from the rest of your team. ;D

Choice Banded Haxorus is the most dangerous thing ever. 654 attack. So I say Haxorus.

...ah, thanks, the idea is that the rain will cover the fire weakness in my team. When I have the time I should EV train a scizor. And yes, it's nature was adamant so I was gleeful. Ev training took ages though. I think, well, I have pokerus and a macho brace, so it shouldn't be as bad as when I was EV training lucario...

what is a EV item please in the good old days we just attack the weakness of a pokemon

^ i think he meant the IV items, meaning power anklet and such. when you breed with them, then your pokemon is guaranteed to inherit 1 IV of a certain stat, depending on which anklet you give the parent.
or he meant the drugs, like protein and iron and carbos. they give your pokemon 10 EVs in a certain stat as long as your pokemon has under 100 EVs in that stat.
and true in the old days power and bragging rights was based on level and typing, but there really was EVs back then, and some people still do competitive first gen battling, liking the super old school rules. the only thing was that everyone had either alakazam or someone with toxic + fire spin...
also, beamgunner, when can you get us the drizzletoeds? i dont mean to rush you or anything; anytime is fine, but when can you breed them?

^ i think he meant the IV items, meaning power anklet and such. when you breed with them, then your pokemon is guaranteed to inherit 1 IV of a certain stat, depending on which anklet you give the parent. He meant that. I can tell. But after every battle they also give you 1 EV in their respective stats (when held, of course), as I recall. And that is the purpose the game explicitly mentions for them. So they would be EV items, technically, I'd say.

^Actually, it's much better than that.
It's an additional 4 EV's in the stat it is for.
Trust me, for I am Barry.
