R1:Match5: Sirius vs. Beam Gunner

One man vs. a battleship! Today's match is Sirius vs. Beam Gunner

Sirius....uhm...he's a battleship! His main cannons can splash explosions all over the field, while keeping enemies in check with smaller shots! At 1000 Points, he's the most expensive of our contestants this year, but also the one with the most health! At a staggering 2000 HP, this monster of a ship can sail through waves of opponents like they were nothing, and likes to float around like his friends, Death Arc and Antares.

Beam Gunner, also a long range type borg! He ALWAYS has ammo, shoot shoot shoot shoot charge shot shoot, and continue the loop! A master of energy, this guy just keeps shooting and shooting. When in need, he can whip out his mega laser, and easily decimate his enemy's health. It's even better when he's in hyper mode, and can shoot them consistently!

Alright peeps, i have a confession. I don't get the Sirius hype and i think he/it's overrated. I said it, i mean it, i wont take it back.

BG has my vote. He'd win a fight, his gun is cool, and he's a humanoid so i can empathize with him more easily.

Tomorrow's vote is gonna be hard though...

And quite honestly I really can't use Sirius for my life ...

Sirius can float there, shoot stuff, and spin. Rather monotonous and boring.
Beam Gunner can actually move. Far more dynamic and exciting.
If it were any other Fortress Borg I'd go with Beam Gunner immediately.
But Sirius happens to be one of my go-to I-don't-feel-like-fighting-these-things-from-the-ground Borgs, along with most of the Dragons to varying extents. So I vote Sirius.

I would explain why Sirius gets all its hype, but you've probably already read all about it elsewhere in the forum and Admin will probably explain it anyway, so I don't need to.

Name one other Borg that costs at most 1000 GF and you can go through the entire game with with ease.

Big Dragons do an easier time ofcit, are faster, and only cost 500-700 more.
Small dragon would also suffice at that point.
And, Beam Sattelite does as good, BOTH attacks are useful, and it costs 800.

Blade wing/Anubis wing, Cyber Girl Hyper, maybe Cyber Hero if i really tried, Planet Hero (though it'd take a while), and Samurai Shogun. Though that's based solely on my preferences. Most ranged borgs can do it as long as they can dodge fairly well.

Big and unmoving=nono for me.

naturally Sirius would win.

cause Beam Gunner cannot survive the firepower of Sirius. that being said you dont get much fun using fortress borgs for long since your just staying there high in the sky a hard target to hit.

this is hard one cause i do like them both. since iv been voting biased on who would win il vote for Sirius.

I believe Beam Gunner's Giga Beam Cannon only dents Sirius a bit from my experiences. While he's doing that, Sirius can just shoot him down.

Gfaqs has 1:3, with beam gunner in the lead, for a total of 7:8 so far. There's still 12 hours left!

To Sirius's hype, I don't get it either. Antares is where it's at! Antares! Antares! lol. ;D Sirius is alright, but I like Antares's design a lot more (and he has Alpha Wings, which makes fighting him all the more awesome. Yes, I've actually died to one lol).

Big dragons are the best Borgs in the game after all , but they well over-exceed the preferable cost Sirius has.

Small dragons flinch, gets knocked back and can't survive ICBM blasts or Hyper Beams so for the cost, they are vastly, vastly inferior to Sirius.

Beam Satellite miss too easily thus running out of ammo (something Sirius never does) quickly and will only end being an easy, non-fighting-back target. Further add less defense, HP and the inability to survive ICBM blasts and Hyper Beams and it'll become an even less desirable Borg.

Antares costs too much, have way less ammo which pretty much always depletes before the Hyper Meter charges up fully, and with no Max Shot ability to utilize while in Hyper Mode lower its rank even further.

^ah, I didn't know Antares didn't have that Max Shot death attack lol. I've never played as Antares, but I like fighting him more and he looks cooler, imo.
