 Welcome to the first annual Gotcha Borg Tournament! Herpanda here as your host, I'll be selling popcorn as we watch our heros duke it out on the battlefield! Some General Rules: - Vote for WHOEVER YOU WANT. For any reason. Remember to vote in the poll too.
- One Poll battle will be held each day in the "Borg Discussion" section of the forum, in a NEW THREAD each day (so I can utilize the poll feature).
- Each poll will be open for 36 hours, and will lock voting after that.
- Only the votes from the actual poll will count. The final score will add up both the GameFAQs and Gotcha Force Fan polls together.
- I will abstain from voting, UNLESS there is a tie. Then, I will vote for who I would have voted for, and break any ties.
Today's matchup is between Barrier Girl and Shadow Girl! 500 and 340 points, respectively. Both are Girl Borgs, and both are speed types! Barrier Girl is basically invincible unless it messes up multiple dodges in specific circumstances. And that's no fun. I vote Shadow Girl. By the way, that bracket owns the faces of every other bracket I've seen. ...You know, aside from the part where most of the lines aren't at all straight.  |

Since Shadow Girl can barely beat one Death Borg my vote goes to Barrier Girl who can at least hold her ground.

The other poll has one vote on barrier girl, so it's 5 to 3 right now. @frozn, lol, sorry, at least the next time either of them show up it'll be easier, right? xD By the way, that bracket owns the faces of every other bracket I've seen. ...You know, aside from the part where most of the lines aren't at all straight. Yeah...when I was making it I, I couldn't help but want a Gotcha Force Smash Brothers or something (I had the little boxes next to each other, so it looked like a roster). The designs in this game are great  too bad they go underappreciated... and...I got lazy with the lines xD @al,  how could you have not used barrier girl!?!!? It's so satisfying to put up a shield right before you get hit, she's like, *huzzah! block*. Plus, she can tank the Sho Battles  |

^ Barrier girl didn't feel right when I used her. Barrier is incredibly weak, I didn't find it worth it especially since I was dodging most of the time anyway.

I tried learning how to use Shadow Girl, but I just can't lol. Her output seems way too low, and her combos seem to be really risky to use against any decent melee borg. She also isn't tha good in the air, iirc (because of falling down really fast when attacking, I think? I might be thinking of the wrong person). Tips?
And, update, the polls combined are SO FAR 7:4, Barrier Girl. There's still about 12 hours left, so we'll see what happens.

shame i was late.
but anyway one on one shadow girl may as well stab herself
this is what would happen.
Barrier girl would activate the shield and then force shadow girl into focusing the attacks on the shield allowing barrier girl to take the shots.
meaning Shadow Girl would have no chance.

well i think it depends on how much the Shadow slash hurts. if it can take out the shield in one hit, then i think shadow girl has a pretty good chance. barrier girl has crazy lag after her charge shot, and the bullets aren't exactly accurate.
but i forget that barrier girl can move around just as easily as shadow girl, and that the shadow slash has just as much lag, if not more.

Barrier Girl is an amazing melee fighter.
Her shield pretty much means no hitstun, and can mess up an opponent mid-combo, granted her shield is still good. There aren't many melee attacks that can break through her shield in one hit though, and those that can usually have a good amount of cooldown. Fighting even a Shuriken Ninja's special is child's play, just take the blade head on, let your shield get chipped, and then kick him across the field. Use that time to replenish your shield.
The obvious melee opponent she actually has trouble with is Flame Ninja because he has a quick "long range" melee, so you can't really interrupt him. Breaks her shield in one hit, AND it has a shotgun effect so it's pretty difficult to just dodge it.
