I just got the Artbook and CD that came with the reprint this past March I saw it when I was checking the price for GF, I bid on it, and I hoped and prayed that no one else would bid on it (no one else bid xD, lucky me :3).

Art Book
I only flipped through the artbook, but there's a few cool stuff. There's a few design sketches of some borgs (who look more, "organic", a little less toylike, but still kiddy), some art you might have seen before (and some you might not), fan art, you know, art stuffs lol.

What I noticed in the art that caught my eye, was a picture of Rin, Usagi, and Kou. Guess who's in the middle? lol. It looks like they're in middle school. So yeah, if you ever wondered what happened love wise between the characters xD (sorry KouxMana fans, LOL....It looks like Mana and Kakeru if you're wondering)

There are also a few shots of some of them when they're older (like the aforementioned rin, usagi, and kou shot. They look at least middle school, they lost their baby fat lol), and Usagi even has a little "timeline" sketch of her from elementary -> middle school -> high school(? maybe junior high) -> and then a ?, so I'm guessing they didn't want to draw her in college lol.

There's some designer's notes, but they're in Japanese, so I don't know what they say. It's good stuff, I'll upload pics eventually.

The CD

The CD has 13 tracks, and it's missing a lot, but it has the main stuff. Most songs are less than 3 minutes, and I think there's a remix or two. They have the theme song track, but only the one with vocals (no instrumental on here). I was thinking about maybe uploading them and linking them as private links, but I'm sure the songs are out there on Youtube somehwere already lol.

I'll try and take a few pictures of the artbook's more interesting stuff and post them here. Sorry, no scans ^^;; the inner collector of me is scared of bending and creasing it. AND MAN, am I feeling the nostalgia. Looking through these pics and listening to the music...I need to play this weekend lol.

I've always wanted to see the inside of those art books! ;D The Kourinsagi picture you mentioned, is it the same as the one on the site for 3rd anniversary? The other ones don't ring a bell though, so I'm excited to see them ;D

Picture-hunting nostalgia's tugging at me slightly. Time to pull the game out again soon (I lost THE GAME by the way)

Whoops, I wasn't stretching the screen on the comp I was using I'll fix it when theres time later.

That looks kind of like a Death Wing Demon Wing hybrid with a Megaton Robot structure

Size preference is that 600 pixel width max, but I think thats it. Which Im not helping with, stretching the screen like that...*sweatdrop*

I updated some of the photos. If any of them loo WAAAY too big, or are sideways, you might have seen them while I was editing them (and thus saved in your temporaries, so whenever it pulls up it'll show that picture), you can delete your temporary internet files (I think restarting your computer also does the same thing, but that takes longer lol).

and yeah, I left out some of the more obvious stuff (like the artwork for all of their movements, though I kept Kou and kakeru's). I also left some of the busier pictures a little bigger than the others so you can tell what's going on, but if those are too big let me know and I'll move them down to 400x300. Also, if there's anything you want me to zoom in on or something, let me know too.

Yeah, after looking at them, most of them are old lol, but there's still some cool stuff. Things like Jet Hero. He has some weird disk weapon and a double missile launcher looking thing that he doesn't have in-game, at least I don't think he does. I guess they replaced the missiles with that double sword (they kinda look similar)

so, what do you guys think?

The borg sketches, I think, are the prototype designs they had. You can find most of them in their blog(?) starting from post 10/11. I went through and saved all of them off the site a while back but I don't think I've seen the wing and gun borgs before. Very cool.

^Oh wow thanks for the link. It's so hard to navigate that site xD The buttons on the sides seem to lead to different pages depending on what page you're on.

And yeah, it seems a lot of these have already been shown on their blog (and tons more that they didn't print in the book). Man, they must have had a blast making this game and designing all of the characters.

you think they still sell those model kits? Do want T_T. And apparently, part of their studio made Minish Cap? I mean, Gundam vs. Gundam was a given (stop making those and make GF2!! lol), but Zelda? I realized it said Capcom on the loading screen...but... gotcha force team. (any idea what their name is?)

I wish I worked there....(well...hmm....<_< maybe).

NICE CATCH HERPANDA! man what i would give for some moar gotcha merchandise. i have to say, i really wish that they had programed in shadow girl's alternate coloring. i like it so much better.

No idea what SG's alt looks like, but I'm all for wanting more lol! Same with GF merch I've been checking ebay back and forth ever since I bought this, and nothing cool is popping up anymore :< so I guess it was all pure luck...I need more luck!

Yeah, I think some of them are a little more detailed, like Jet Hero. The vehicles and stuff look a lot "better" here, but I think that's just because it's a sketch and you can see all the complicated linework (while in the game you don't really see it). I wish they'd release all of their sketches...<_< I have a thing for design sketches...lol...
