POST HIGHLIGHTS!
A fan art contest would be better if we had more time.. besides which I cannot draw.
Game challenges are fine but shouldn't be the main event when we have a thread for that anyway.
A GFF member of the year/best ever would be waaaay too hard to do considering I think everyone is the best member. Except those who sign up and never post, or those bloody ditchers...
Cake wont work for obvious reasons that you appear to be aware of.
I honestly cannot come up with any special ideas, except maybe... post highlights? We could do it like one of those shows where we each talk about the past year and commemorate those we have lost and tell the regulars how awesome they are...

IT WOULD BE LIKE THE GFF OSCARS.
Ok, so, thered be a vote for each catagory:
Best RPs
Best post (per member?)
Best thread (not in terms of how long it is, or the standard ones like the spam thread or the 'how are you feeling right now' threads)
And instead of 'member of the year' we could have awards like:
Most post count (dumb idea, we already know whose won)
Most funny
Best avatar
Best name
Stuff like that. What do you think?
Also, I'm fairly certain the anniversary is this friday...

the anniversary is september 8. I think that's saturday. It's the 7th, actually. Except maybe if you're in Japan. As for things that actually contribute to the discussion... I have no idea. An award ceremony-type thing could potentially be a good idea were it not for the fact that in all likelihood half the awards would be virtually impossible decisions about who among our regulars did better at something this year and the other half would be matching the personality trait to the member, which seems rather redundant to me for some reason. A post highlights thing could also be good depending on how it's done; if it amounts to the equivalent of somebody making a montage of everything that's happened over the past year then there's probably no time for that to be made, but a thread wherein we reflect on the past year requires no time for preparation. The only issue there is that either nothing particularly interesting happened or I forgot either what it was or that it didn't happen last year. My personal favorite idea is the cake, but that couldn't possibly work well; I doubt any of us know how to bake a cake. |
