Not sure if someone made a thread about this before, but oh well.
I noticed from old clips of Gotcha Force that Jelly Diver worked differently. His Jelly Scope didn't follow him. It just stayed there.
I wonder why they changed it.

Probably because all of his attacks are awkward to use with the Scope following him. One sidestepped attack and the opponent has an instant five-second window for a combo directly in your face. Now make it so you can't slow down that sidestep. Yeah, that'd be a problem. ...Or maybe it just made more sense to have the Jelly Diver actually swimming in his jelly bubble. That could be it.

First time I've ever seen this. My copy of Gotcha Force that I got near release date doesn't have this so I thought it might be a difference between the JP and NA versions. But looking at other Japanese videos, Jelly Diver functions normally. I don't get it.

Kind of like Sirius moving, only the opposite and having to do with a bubble of jelly as opposed to a massive heavily-armed airship.

No way! Jelly Diver functions like a NORMAL borg! (I have nothing against Jelly Diver, that just struck me as odd) And I'm not hallucinating when that looks incredibly fast, right? (I don't tend to notice things very well )

i, too, have NEVER seen this video. this is awesome!
i really wish that jelly diver actually did this. it would make hiim a heck of a lot more dangerous. especially if it were a tar diver. then i'd actually be afraid of jelly diver in one of the story mode battles, cause i'd have to watch out for the jelly bubbles. also i'd like to make a huge cage of bubbles during power burst ^^ now if only his shots were faster...

It just occurred to me that i've NEVER used a diver before. Are they really that fast ? Great melee speed and range, along with some pretty good sidestepping. I mean....did I just not notice that, or did they nerf him a lot? And I'm not hallucinating when that looks incredibly fast, right? Though it would still look better if he at least had a little bubble around him all the time so it doesn't look too silly lol.

I mean....did I just not notice that, or did they nerf him a lot? From a quick analysis of the clip, he appears to be operating at exactly the same speed as in the actual game. Off-topic: How very typical of me to use "operating" instead of "moving" in a context like this.

But it seems Jelly Diver seems over-nerfed now compared to this one.
For example: I recently got Jack. I'm either not using him well, or he's just a bit... not good.
Or perhaps The Diver borgs' purpose to annoy the close-combat borgs.

Or perhaps The Diver borgs' purpose to annoy the close-combat borgs. Pretty much that; their shots aren't too effective except maybe right on the inside edge of lock-on range (because they accelerate), their melee attacks that aren't awkward to use leave you wide open for retaliation if you miss, they fall way too slowly to get their jumps back without taking several hits... they're just loaded with problems. Or maybe I just forgot how they work over the past few months of not playing. Either way, there's definitely an effective approach to using them... but I forgot what it is.

Then I'm guess the AI is just really dumb lol, like how sometimes you'll see an Anubis Wing or Cyber Ninja just walking on the ground (or in AWs case, flying slowly next to the ground). I'm really looking forward to trying him out though looks fun if he really is that fast.
