I just finished off the Cyber Death Dragon with a Carrier Helicopter. After nearly beating the entire mission with nothing but a Red Attacker.

Normally I'd make an edit to my previous post, but this is far too epic for one post.
What is, you ask?
I FINALLY BEAT THE GAME WITH ONLY AIR BORGS!!! ;D
(Okay, technically Tama finished the Emperor off, but I won, and that's what counts. I think.)
Either way, I can FINALLY quit driving myself crazy trying to kill things with a Carrier Helicopter.
And I have a new-found appreciation for the Violet Attacker... somewhat.
And I FINALLY got my level 10 Orange Fighter back. (I think I had one, but deleted it for some stupid reason.)
And my alt Blue Striker is FINALLY comparable to the borgs of my aerial armada from back in Play 1.
And I'm up to... You know, I've lost count of how many times I've beaten the game. I think it's about 18 now. Whatever.
I don't suppose anyone has a cookie in the shape of a Victory Jet for me?

That's not going to happen.
Carrier Helicopter, in my experience, is the worst of the Air Borgs.
The claw, which is its entire gimmick, is useless.
The missiles, its most powerful attack, can't hit anything anywhere near it unless it's at about the same altitude, which is a major problem that will be explained shortly.
Its guns, while great in the firing rate department, are horribly inaccurate against anything that moves at a decent speed, and anything that doesn't move at a decent speed can kill it in five seconds or less.
Why can anything that doesn't move at a decent speed kill it in five seconds or less?
For the same reason trying to hit with the missiles is such a problem.
Carrier Helicopter is SLOW!
It can't get far enough away to hit enemies below it because they can keep up with it easily, and it can't safely descend to their height, where it can hit them at any distance, because it can't get far enough away to safely descend, and because it descends so slowly.
Sure, it's not too bad against fortresses if you use the power boost, since you can just recklessly fire missiles as fast as possible.
And it can survive dragons if it happens to be far enough away that the dragons' attacks don't have their homing abilities.
But it's still terrible.

I was actually thinking about going through the game with either tanks or the big transforming machines, but I'm too busy looking for spicy cheese dip recipes for some reason.

And a Death Bomb, while it can do considerable damage for a low cost, can only attack once. Generally, I think the ability to do more damage is more important than the probability of doing it. Unless you're talking about Death ICBMs, in which case the fact that it's nearly an instant kill of everything on the battlefield makes it worth it anyway. Unless you can do that damage without it, in which case it just simplifies everything.

I dare you to go against a smart human using Carrier Helicopter with a Shadow Girl. The best you will be able to get is a stalemate because the Helicopter will be out of your range. Always.

Target the ally with Z.
I've never managed to actually get it to work, but the little ring effect appears.

Maybe so, but in a situation like that whoever can last longer doing the same ineffective thing wins. And, personally, I can go pretty long doing the same ineffective thing.
Besides, I, unfortunately, have no smart humans to go against. No one I know outside of GFF that has even heard of the game will play against me, since the list includes about 5 people, and only two of them even play it. And they rarely do. So I have no opponents to test your claim against.

I was fighting the bomb unit with Cyber Ninja. A walking bomb spawns outside of my field of vision and latches onto me. I'm laser spamming when he does this so before I know what's happened, I melee the walking bomb in the face. I was just at the right distance so that the beam shurikens hit him but my hand did not. It may not sound too epic, but when you accidentally melee a walking bomb in the face and survive, you feel like Odysseus, Aeneas, and Beowulf combined into a single entity of epicness.

Encountered 2 Death ICBMs in my first and second battle.
During my ICBM hunt, while I was Death Head flying around at high altitude, Isaac suddenly spawned on it and I flew around evading explosions with him.
Then he suddenly jumped off and headed straight into another explosion.

Then while I assisted Tetsuya in the Construction Zone, my Machine/Death Head was surprisingly long-lived and I took out many Borgs with them.
Later I used my Wire Gunner's wire attack and snared an Elemental Knight into an enemy Samurai Shogun's Shogun Slash. ;D

I kicked a Drill Robot in the face with Proto Blue and shot it as it went flying.
Not particularly epic, but I thought it was somewhat funny.
And then I found out that Proto Mars can do a G Red-style knock-it-into-the-air-jump-after-it-and-combo-the-crap-out-of-it combo.

And now I've beaten Sho at Little Hill with Proto Mars. Barely. By repeatedly kneeing him in the face, then kicking him in the face, then shooting him in the face with the Buster Laser.

I beat the G Emperor with 1 Gold Hero. I air dashed around the emperor, using the dash&shoot strategy. When he got to his last form(lasers) I got hit an awful lot, but my Lv:9 (Golden) Gold Hero (340 HP,) finished him off, with only 17 Hp left. So epic.. ;D

I just retook the Stone River with an Antares.


Now I've beaten Sho and Yuji at Little Hill with Proto Red.


Now I've done the same thing on "Protect the Death Crystal!"


But Tama is a real pain in the backside when you only have two borgs...


Until you figure out that Machine Blue is extremely effective against the Death Arc.
By the way, I JUST WON A BATTLE WITH TITAN ROBOT! ;D
And I'm tired of triple-spacing between edits, so I'm done with that.
I just beat "The Dragon's Den!"
A word of advice; If you want a big Machine Borg to use against bigger enemies than it, MACHINE BLUE! Machine Blue has been extremely effective for me against the dragons and the Death Arc. Anything big and slow, it seems, I can destroy with Machine Blue. So you probably can, too.
