UPDATE (26/04/12): COMPLETE!!! Yes! Finally, this guy is done! I just got the parts in the mail, and i'm glad to say everything works without a hitch. It holds up fine and transforms like a charm.  Triple Ruler is currently supplied as a model kit, and needs painting. There are two reasons for that: A) I don't have a factory in China, and B) It's a new, generic robot which doesn't bear resemblance to any existing robot. So id like to see it with paint. Also the transofrnation video times out at what i assume is under halfway through. Oh and your voice loads slower than the video, you were still talking about his arms while fiddling with his legs.
Just some technical issues i thought id share so your youtube viewers dont get confused.
Also does it come like 2? Sizes bigger, i want a huge one!

hehe, maybe when you're successful, you can start making these guys out of metal, pre-painted and with screws and whatnot ;D
are you going to put your company name where it says "CAPCOM" on each borg?
i think that'd be a clever idea, should you release these to the public.

I've redone the video (turns out i accidentally converted the video incorrectly) so it plays correctly, and it should be easier to follow right now. It also plays completely now. It is my first video with a voiceover, though, so i hope you guys like it and if there's anything i can improve, please let me know. As for a bigger one, i'm not sure. I worry some of the ball joints might not work at a large size, mainly because it would be too hard to puch them into the socket (it's mainly the shoulder that i'd be worried about, the other joints should hold up). That said, i think there might be ways to correct the shoulder joints for a larger size. How big do you want it? ;D *no, i don't have any plans to release a bigger version. I don't intend for these toys to be exactly in scale with each other. Currently, Triple Ruler is the largest, while Wrecking Ball Robo (not counting the ball) is about half as tall. Chi Iris is obviously smaller. Not sure about the metal part, but if i could get a factory and some cheap labour i'd love to actually make toys instead of relying on a 3D printing company. Sadly, I can't quite afford that yet (uni student...not much money). I am looking into methods for coloured parts, though obviously paint would yield better results in any case. As for embossing "Treadshot A1" onto them, i haven't yet done that, though i might later on. Maybe just "A1" to save space. And are you saying that currently i'm NOT successful???  |
