Just wondering, how do you deal with borgs whose attacks seem to be delayed exactly the right amount of time to hit again and again and again?
For example, we all know how well Barrier Girl's physical yo yo attack is. Run in, hit something, and it takes you exactly the same amount of time to reach them as it does for them to not be flinched anymore. Hit again, and repeat, and the opponent can't do anything about it until they bounce off of something and out of Barrier Girl's range.
What about Machine Red? His blast laser (that fast insta-beam, like Command Girl's) hits, and if you press any button while flying through the air to recover, the second blast hits, and it continues. I've often been hit thrice by this as most of my borgs recover fast after being hit. Its like Machine Red's blast animation was programmed to be exactly as long as it takes an opponent to become vulnerable again (that is, just long enough to bypass the invincible state you're in when you flinch). Actually, come to think of it I tried not pressing any button, and I still got hit while in the so called invulnerable state (I've done that with Command girl before, so its not a com cheating), though I only get hit twice in this case instead of three times.
Other borgs, like Command Girl can blast you once with an X attack from far away, and then a skilled player can time the next shot to hit right when you recover (i've been guilty of this tactic on many occasions). That means you're bound to take 3 hits before being able to recover (which is like 50-75 damage depending on the Borg).
Short of Dragons and Fortresses, how do you deal with these attacks? Do you just avoid them all day long (and take the hit every once in a while), or do you have a way to avoid being subjected to these tactics? And are you guilty of using some if these perfectly timed animations to your advantage sometimes?
Oh, and I'll give one of my ways to deal with this: Quick Valkyrie. If this thing hits a perfectly timed Borg, it'll end up too fast, and its animation will be over while the opponent is still flicnhed. Obviously not the best counter ever, since you have to use a freaking Quick Valkyrie, but possible.
