Two little blackbirds
with four red eyes
out of the darkness
together you fly.
Get to the green man
searching above
frantically, quickly
guide him to his love.
Down into darkness
a maze of night
to find your way
follow golden light.
There is the bad man
his face a mask
his single eye set
on his task.
THe face of the green man
a story it tells;
he'll send the bad man
to a living hell.
Shadows creep
as your eyes close,
return to slumber
nose to nose.
Return to your haven
warm and dark,
slumbering peacefully
beneath the heart.
Wrapped most tenderly
in her thought
a greater comfort
you've never sought.
"Someday," she whispers,
"you'll soar the skies;
my two little blackbirds
with four red eyes."
