I'm currently in the process of making a Gotcha Force card game. I've always have loved to play card games and I love to play Gotcha Force. I'm going to be making a plugin for Lackey as well a program which allows anyone to play card games online. So when I'm done with it every body can try it out.
The idea is that you pick a GF Commander which will be based off the characters in the game and each will have different amounts of GF energy and they will all have some sort of bonus for different kinds of borgs. Either a particular type of borgs will cost less or a type of borgs will get a boost or an extra ability. The borgs of course will be based off the game as well.
I'm probably going to start with only making 90 different borgs for the first set and five different GF commanders to test the game out on Lackey.
I also had an interesting idea about making another kind of cards(don't know what I would name them though) that will so heal your borg, make an attack do extra damage, or increase a certain stat on a borg. The catch is putting these cards in your force will cost GF energy just like a borg does.
What do you guys think? I would really like for you guys to respond to this with either ideas or just comments
and if you guys have any ideas into how to make the combat in the card game would be appreciated cause I was thinking of just using the stats but I don't think that will run well so any ideas on that would be awesome!! Something like this one borg has a defense of 9 and the other has 2 attack, that's why I'm not sure how well that would work, maybe I'll just drop the defense of the borgs and the knights that have shields can just roll a die and if it's a 5 or 6 then they would block it.
Sorry thought I would be done talking about it after the first paragraph but I just have one more thing to mention. About the rules this is what I've come up with so far.
Deck size 31 because that 1 will be your GF commander and the rest is your force.
I was thinking maybe we should put the entire force into our hands and then choose what borg to play next or we could do it like the way the game works where forces move from one borg in your force to the next one you put in your force.
If you do put the other kind of cards into the game do you guys think we should put a limit on how many we can have in a force, and for these cards we would put these into our hands so we can use them at any time.
Ok now that's every thing I wanted to talk about.
